How does one get troops besides training them?
So, raid and train troops. That's cool, but any other way to get troops, so that game can be enjoyed for more than 15 minutes a day?
PvP tournaments: You either lose way more troops than you gain from tournament rewards or you need to have massive army and spend whole day to stalk newbie sectors for left out small amounts and destroy them for miniscule amounts of points a day. Conclusion: you either lose army or dedicate 2 whole days to getting extra 10 ceptors. Not worth the loss/time.
Infest tournaments: The points you need to get x amount of troops from rewards are achieved by smacking infests to a point, where you lose more than 2x as much in infest tax. Conclusion: You lose more than you gain. Not worth the loss.
Exp tournaments: Same as infest and PvP ones. Mix of both, aka you lose more than you gain. Not worth the loss/time.
Resource tournaments: Heavily limited. Whole tournament gives little to no rewards if you don't pop resource packs, which, also, are limited. Not worth the time.
Upgrade tournaments: Also heavily limited. Miniscule rewards unless you use boosts, which are also limited. Not worth generally.
Gaining troops tournament: Either wait for troops to train and get little to none in terms of rewards, or use boosts, which are limited to get one time decent tournament reward or you smack infests, which take more in tax than tournament gives. Not worth the loss.
P.S. Is there anything I'm missing or is the optimal way to play the game just sending 10 raids a day, queueing up the troops to train and logging out till next day comes? Is that how devs envisioned the game? I have hard time believing that's the case.
P.P.S. I'm saying this, because I should have over 500k ceptors worth of army since I started playing, if all I did was raid and train. Spoiler alert: I don't have nearly as much.
I'd suggest infests to return in 1:1 ratio of what you lose, so that coupled with tournaments, they'd be atleast one way to profit, but suggestions are closed, so if anyone's got any tips, I'd appreciate sharing them with me.
