You may now acquire and use new Items – Sketches – to upgrade buildings even further than ever before. This can grant special bonuses; upgrading to these new levels can improve Resource production rates, increase the amount of Units that can be revived for free at the Infirmary, or even automatically send newly trained Units to the Catacombs!

Check the “Info” tabs of your buildings to see what bonuses you will receive with further upgrade levels!

You can acquire Sketches from the Black Market – go to “Misc.” under the Resources tab. Sketches purchased will be automatically added to your Resource panel at the top of the screen.

This is nothing but a cash grab by plarium. If you cant upgrade without having to purchase new sketches from the bm then this game is an even bigger rippoff than before.

With the new upgrades, you receive a number of considerable benefits: production rates are increased for Townhouses, Mines, Farms, and Forge, and your Catacombs can now hold more Resources. If you upgrade the Infirmary, you can revive many more of the Offensive Units lost in your Castle (up to 50%). Upgrading your Military Buildings will allow you to send your newly trained Units directly to the Catacombs, thus extending your training queue. Upgrading Warehouses and Barns will allow you to store more Resources.

As you can see, all these upgrades are optional. Let us look at it this way: if you have good Defenses in your Castle (high-level Walls, for example), you do need to worry that the new Units you train will be taken when someone raids you; therefore, you are in no need of a higher-level Infirmary or Catacombs. You can obtain Resources by raiding other Castles and simply leave your Production Buildings at Level 35.
