Lost Arts Upgrade times increased

Can we have some clarification or explination as to why the most recent update, 1.75.1, has caused the times of all lost arts in the house of scrolls to increase?

This is not visual, this is not random and it is not contained to one player. This is not an outside problem, it has nothing to do with our devices or our Internet connection. I've already brought this to the attention of technical support days ago, and received two irrelevant, off topic, form letter responses that didn't even address anything I explained.

This has nothing to do with the ridiculous roll out of the broken Dragon Arts, (or perhaps it does as the issue coincides with the launch of the new features). I'm going to explain this simply so we might finally get an adequate response. If any of you haven't noticed this, perhaps check for yourself and chime in if it's affecting you as well.

All lost arts in the House of Scrolls now take longer than they used to. Level 16 Dominion that used to say 2 days to complete now says 3.5 days. (Forgive me for rounding, I'm not going to take this to the minute for these examples). 22 hour lost arts now take 2 days. 7.5 hour lost arts now take 16 hours. 30 minute lost arts now take 1 hour. I could go on. Every single one of them has increased.

I don't want to hear the same old tired responses that avoid answers, or more importantly, admit fault. This is widespread. It isn't cosmetic or visual. The game mechanics are not operating properly behind the scenes.

So let's have a real answer for once. Is this a mistake? A bug caused by some oversight in the programming of a new update? Will this be fixed? Will we receive any form of compensation?

Or was this intentional? Was it silently changed with the delusional hope that nobody would notice and say anything? If the developers just wanted to stretch out the lost arts in an attempt to have players burn through more speed ups and then spend more money on their product, why not just give us some weak story about Balur killing half our scribes?

If you're a player that's sick and tired of this sort of thing, speak up, agree, and demand more. If you're an admin or moderator on these forums, give us a real answer. If you have nothing, admit it, don't try and blow smoke. Show us that you can actually accomplish something.

I'm looking forward to your response.

P.S. I'm taking plenty of screen shots of this post to make sure it doesn't disappear.

Lord, I'm Community Manager of this forum and I would like to clarify the situation for you.

Since we created a strategy game, there are a lot of features that requires thorough and strong balance at every point. We are always trying to improve the game so that it would be even more balanced and harmonic. Our Analytic team investigated game data and logs and after this investigation we decided to change the upgrading time of the Lost Arts.

This is not a bug, but a new feature. I apologize that this change was not in our news, I'll do my best to prevent such situations in the future. Thank you for your understanding at this matter.

The new upgrading time doesn't require Sapphires use and you can always develop your Castle for free.

Was that really so difficult? I suppose when there's that many cogs in the wheel, it takes time for you to all get your story straight. My only advice: take more time so your team isn't contradicting itself.

Let's start with your statement, "Our Analytic team investigated game data and logs and after this investigation we decided to change the upgrading time of the Lost Arts." That sounds fancy. Far more eloquent and official sounding than Lord Oberon in his private message to me, sent several hours before your reply on this forum post.

"Oh, yeah we've changed the upgrade time of Lost Arts to keep the game more challenging and balanced. Also, we had to do these changes in order to avoid some serious issues with the new features."

So you decided to change the upgrading time, or you were forced to, to avoid some "serious issues"?

To further quote Lord Oberon, "We always try to inform our players about the upcoming updates, but now we had no chance to do so, cause we located the issue right in the middle of updating process." This story is starting to unravel.

Here's the problem. The people who play your games understand them better than you. From the day this update came out, we saw the problem. You use words like "new feature" or "upgrade" or "balanced and harmonic" but the players see it for what it is. A rushed, poorly executed, sad attempt at an update. Offering reduced upgrade times through Dragon Arts while silently increasing the base upgrade time to result in an overall longer time? And then having the nerve to call it a new feature? Let's call a spade a spade here. Shady, underhanded tactics that nobody is buying in to. At least if Dragon Arts were applied once at the beginning of an upgrade to reduce the initial upgrade time, that would have been passable... maybe. But applying a small percentage to a three hour bracket, and then losing it. The diminishing returns of your system make Dragon Arts useless. You made a big show about saving us a few hours and secretly added days. The end result is that the players always lose.

And come on, more challenging and balanced? There's no challenge to pressing the upgrade button. Nothing has changed, there's no skill testing question we have to complete in order to start an upgrade. It just takes longer now. Which means more frustration and more incentive to buy in game product. Which is what this is all about in the end. There's no concern for fairness, balance, morality, accountability. Just trying to bleed your customers dry.

I'll end this with with the line that Lord Oberon ended his correspondence with.

"This is not a glitch."

No, just business as usual.

Thank you for such detailed feedback. I don't see any contradictions in my comments and message of Lord Oberon. As I said, after investigation of the game logs we decided to change this feature. The decision of course is based on many factors.

The game is growing and evolving every day and changes are inevitable. Our main goal is the improving of the game, of its strategy part. I assure you that we never make such decisions without proper investigation.

I appreciate that you brought this subject to my attention. Your points have been taken on board and we will do our utmost to ensure that we do better in providing you with the best gaming experience possible.

Since the reply was already given I'll close this thread.
