Can someone please explain the difference, other than a minor base stat difference and the obvious amulet cost, between these units? What is special about the Assassin? I was told they can fight but that was never explained leaving me to question it's validity. Without knowing how these units work, how can we know how to properly use them?

Unlike Silent Ones that die if the spying amount sent to castle is less than that of spies in castle being spied on (+intelligence bonus) with no deaths on enemy castle spies, Assassins take out equal point value of those spies if they are to fail in their mission and die, leaving you with less enemy spies to deal with next spy attempt provided player is not active and send more spies from catacomb to castle or is producing silent ones or other spies or receive spy reinforcement from other players.
