Balur's Beacon Invasion
Balur's Black Horde grows restless, and the threat of chaos bears down on Darkshine with ever greater ferocity. You and your League must rise to the challenge, and fend off the Marennon in Balur’s Beacon Invasion!
Balur's Beacon Invasion is a time-limited Event which takes place once a month. While it is on, participating Leagues must defend their Beacons against five Attack Waves from Balur's forces in exchange for spectacular Rewards.
A League may participate in the Event if its League Marshal or a League Captain authorize it to do so, and if it controls at least one Beacon.
Should you and your League wish to take on Balur's forces you must stay vigilant, for a banner announcing the Event will appear in the "Special Events" tab of the Events window three days before it begins!
Defending Beacons
While the Event is on, Balur will launch five Attack Waves upon the Beacons of participating Leagues.
Each Wave will be launched randomly during a four-hour Attack Window, with the first Attack Window opening the moment the Event begins.
Attack Windows are separated by four-hour cooldown periods. During cooldown periods, Balur's forces will not attack the Beacons of participating Leagues.
If a League controls multiple Beacons, Balur's Horde will attack them one-by-one in random order during Attack Waves. Each battle at a Beacon will generate a Battle Report which will be dispatched to the Grand Marshal of each player whose Units took part.
Repelling Attack Waves
To successfully repel an Attack Wave, a League must win at least 75% of the battles that take place during that Wave. For example, if a League controls four Beacons, it must successfully defend at least three of them against Balur's forces.
If a League fails to repel two Attack Waves in a row, it will no longer be able to participate in the Event. Participation in the Event will also end if a League no longer controls at least one Beacon.
You can see both how many Beacons your League has successfully defended and how many were attacked by Balur's forces in the “Beacons Defended” column of the Event window. The “Beacons Controlled” column shows you how many Beacons are held by your League.
Note that these columns refresh every time you open the Event window, and that if your League captures a Beacon during an Attack Wave, attacks against it by Balur’s forces will take place in subsequent Waves.
If a League loses a battle at a Beacon to Balur's Horde during the Event, this cannot result in the Beacon being captured or its Level downgraded. If, following a battle, no Units of any League Members remain at the Beacon, it will remain under the League's control. Be sure to send Reinforcements so it is not captured by a rival League!
Note that while the Event is on, Beacons held by participating Leagues will only be attacked in line with the rules of the Event and will not be subject to any other attacks from Balur's forces.
Rewards
After each battle that takes place at one of its Beacons, Leagues will earn Dark Essence. The amount of Dark Essence earned will be shown in Battle Reports.
League Members will also earn League Gold when an Attack Wave is repelled. Successfully defend all your League’s Beacons during each Attack Wave to maximize each Member’s bounty of League Gold, but bear in mind that if a League fails to repel an Attack Wave, no League Gold will be earned for that Wave.
To be eligible to claim League Gold, you must be a fully-fledged League Member, and your Units must have defended at least one of your League’s Beacons from Balur’s forces during the Event. You must also not leave your League before the Event ends.
All League Members who meet these requirements will receive the same amount of League Gold as a Reward. League Gold may be spent in the League Shop, which can be found by hovering over the Leagues icon on the main game screen.
The Marennon are coming for your League’s Beacons – do everything in your power to stop them!
