Worst. Tourney. Ever. You don't like being forced to fight random leagues that could be allies or dozens of times larger than your own?
Just think of it like russian roulette.
Nobody is forced. As it was already discussed in other topics, if your opponent League is your allies and you have an activity to destroy Units of the Opponent League, just ignore it and focus on other two activities.
If your opponent League is not your allies, but you don't want to fight with them, use your negotiation skills :)Alina Phoenix said:

I disagree. You speak of using diplo and counting on other players to play nice, but that's not how all players go about it. So long as involuntary PvP is allowed and players can gain points from attacking you, you are forced to participate, even if that participation is merely as a point farm for someone else. *Note: you can choose to keep everything in cata or to pop a weor, but that isn't the same as being opted out. That's more making yourself a less attractive target or using temp protection.
Any tournament that rewards players for attacking other players, just by the very nature of the tournament, forces you to participate (as aggressor or target or both).
I'd also say that the somewhat random nature of the matching puts those who care about winning the overall tournament at a disadvantage. As the greatest points come from killing opposing league troops, being pitted against an ally and having to opt out of that biggest point source pretty much means you have to kill 25% more troops just to match the point totals of those not fighting their allies.
It might be more fun if the tournament was run on an "opt in" basis. The game could announce that a duel tournament was starting in a few days, and the marshal of any league that wanted to participate could click a check box or something, then matchmaking would be done between the leagues that had volunteered.Alina Phoenix said:

i think all marshall have spoken each other to avoid wars between them once the duel is announced
at least is what we have done before starting the duel and do it only with bgs and killing other league troops
we have participated in the 4 duels withouth fighting between the 2 leagues involved one against the other
