Should I attack ?
Hello everybody,
Should I attack this guy ?
I only have dragons (500 dragons) in my catacombs.
There is no tournament right now.
Would you attack ?

Definitely not. Unless there's a good pvp tournament going there's no point, as you'll just lose a bunch of troops for very little return. Plus then he or his friends may attack you back.Hello everybody,

To quote Sun Tzu: "Move not unless you see an advantage; use not your troops unless there is something to be gained."
As Bogdan pointed out above, it may be prudent to wait for a PvP event and strike then with all your might to reap much greater rewards.
Lets try this again, as you deleted the previous post.
QUESTION: How can you say he will reap greater reward, when the actual loss you endure, is greater than the value of any reward you can get? Its all about simple math. X got Y (sapphire) value and so on. I even made a spreadsheet, that I can plug in "rewards" and it give me a sapphire value, and at same time I can calc my sapphire LOSS value to obtain it.
Shouldn't a game give a sense of satisfaction and reward for effort and time invested? Or at least a break even point? Battlegrounds I get at some degree because you trade up units for better units, so you sacrfice fast to build units for better slower to build units, even you end up pay more resources for them than you would if you built them.
So to the OP, all I can suggest is, if its not worth it to you and come at a to high cost, just don't do it.
It all depends on the situation. As an example, there are tournaments that offer Legendary Units as a reward once you have passed a certain point threshold. So while attacking hard targets may indeed result in losses to your regular Troops, you can gain these Legendaries that would otherwise need to be bought with Sapphires and can provide your Army with an impressive bonus. As a more common reward, Soulstones can only be obtained by participating in Tournaments and one could argue that they are very valuable, especially at lower levels. It is indeed up to the player to look at the rewards they stand to gain and at the losses their Army would suffer, then decide whether to commit or not. All I pointed out was that if they wish to attack a target that can clearly defend itself, it is best to do it when there is more to be gained.I would build infantry & cavalry units to PVP with to gain better troops and save my dragons for a rainy day!!
What Jez said. ^^^
Save your 500 dragons for raiding, and build/train other off troops first for PvP or BG tournaments. You should always keep your minimum number of good res raiding troops in cats no matter if there is a tourney or not.
Before I answer your question, first you need to understand two things.
Firstly the "who can get there first" aspect of the game, that is who can build the biggest army, complete most BG ect is over.
Secondly, the game weather you want to accept it or not has entered a decline phase.
This means, it's rather stupid, even, redundant to build or buy 50K dragons, who are gonna fight. Rather it's more fun to set a limit, like say building 1000 dragons, and then using them to have as much fun as possible with them. And fun in any mmo is found in lossing, and never in winning.
According to studies, players in mmo have more fun when they're placed in a situation that they cannot survive/escape or negate. You have more fun when you try to defend against 50K dragons with 500 graffin, compared to when you hit an enemy defending with any number of graffin.
So my answer attack and have fun.

I thought you had quit the forums forever Oracle.
That is also a very viable strategy! The risk and reward is always something to consider, and while Dragons can help you smash through a powerful defense it is indeed wise to calculate whether the losses they'd sustain are worth it. In my opinion, it is always best to send them along with a large number of lower-tier troops who can take the brunt of the casualties and are easy to replace.I'd just send the disposable troops and leave the expensive ones at home until you have enough of them built up to overwhelm your opponents.

There should be a 'zero-loss' option here too. You should lose fewer dragons and also lose none of your zero-loss squad
I notice that your 2 Gt Western Dragons were expected to survive according to playtamin calculator
I always protect my zero-loss squad, and keep 2 or 3 of every unit safe in the catacombs for use against battlegrounds .... but have never experimented much with zero-loss pvp, so I dont know the sweet-spot
Dear Lords
you should have a lot of offensive points distributed along a lot of different kind of units to have only almost zero loss attack
i do it only against low castles defended with 50-100 units of only one type of troops and sometimes i loose 1 or 2 paladians.
so if you only have 500 dragons keep them for better oportunity and try to build a bunch of low units to keep sending them during differents pvp tournaments.
some day maybe i will do a how to for calculating the attack to zero loss but its not so difficult, but have to remind all and even more translate it :p
(now with all the boost, new defensive points and new xp units is really hard)
