Where there is grind then some people will write scripts to automate the grind.
It's inevitable. The grind is boring, so of course logically people want to avoid it. The only thing that stops most people from doing it, is not having the skills to do so, rather than some superior morality or ethics about fair play.
If you are talking about people selling pro tools, not sure if that is really happening in Stormfall (I do a lot of TS and I have never heard of anyone using a tool they bought).
I for one wouldn't send my credit card details to the kind of sites that do that in other games, or the one that sells resources and troops in this game. You are sending your card details to what at best is a quasi legal company. They are just as likely to sell on your card details for instant profit. Beyond that, every penny you spend like this does not go to the developers, so none of it will find it's way back into the game in terms of new content or better service or support - so totally self-defeating.
Having said that I do think the makers of games should take all steps to stop it and give everyone a level playing field. Even if it will be a constant war against the botters (where there is money to be made, ppl will be pretty resourceful to keep it flowing).. Progress in a game shouldn't be determined by how far your willing to stretch the rules (or in some cases outright cheating, or buying from 3rd party sites).
Btw the game doesn't have 1m active users. Couple of thousand active players per server at best (which is why there is no serious pro botter selling stuff - not enough money in it).
