Fireballs used seem overpowered

I am continually attacked by a player who likes to lob all his FBs at me.

I have 748 total spirit wardens. Each with 500 Sorcery Defense. My castle is only 25,106 non enhanced.

How is it possible that his single sorcery spell (Fireball) can take out 252 spirit wardens? Fireball are 12,600 offense. I should only lose a handful at most. Right? What am I missing on calculations?

I get he can have enhancements on offense, but seriously? A few fireballs and he has wiped out all the spirit wardens. He launched a total of 6 FBs. Taking out all my spirit wardens and quite a bit of defense I had being trained at castle.

Check and see if it's a 10 Pack of Fireballs :)

Also. My Sorcery Shield lost art is Level 9 (21%) and SS Chance is Level 10 (10%). Yet doesn't seem to have helped at all.

Yes. Apparently it was 5 shots of 10 packs and one of 2. A total 6 attacks. I thought we were limited to 10 Fireballs. Apparently it is 10 FB attacks with 10 FB each for a total of 100 FBs from each player? 126,000 / 500 = 252 spirit wardens. I guess that explains that. Dang these things are quite overpowered. Not sure what you can do about a relentless player with lots of coin to throw at you. I can't even make a dent at his castle.

The best solution is usually just to stick all your troops in catacombs, that way he can fireball all he wants and it won't do anything.

I can also only add you always have the option of fighting fire with Fire Unless they Have the Guardian Castleskin which is also an Option if your able to activate one.

Yep, most big coiners will activate guardian skin before throwing fireballs.

Fireballs don't belong in a decent strategy game.

No risk offence. They are used primarily to grief people. At best they are used to bypass PvP events, claiming rewards whilst taking part in no real battles.

For a long time we just suffered them as they were a revenue stream for Plarium. They were bad but they helped fund the game. So they were a necessary evil, so to speak.

Now Plarium are giving them away for free like smarties. So they serve no purpose whatsoever now. They neither add to the quality of the game, nor are they a source of revenue to keep the game servers running.

Worse, at this point in the game's cycle, there are many people with many alts. Giving ppl 20 free fireballs a week from league PvP, with little to no effort (ironically you just need to send a couple of fireballs to qualify for the reward) has led to some people being able to drop hundreds and hundreds of FB's on the person they want to grief.

At this stage the game would lose absolutely nothing if FB's were removed.

Yep, I've seen people get swarmed with thousands of fireballs after they upset somebody with a bunch of alt accounts.

All game require strategy but this one does not belong to that genera.

In a strategy game you have counters to all actions. There are no "WIN" buttons ;)

Oh there's certainly strategy available, it can just be overridden by those willing to spend enough money.  But the money always dries up in the end...
