Beginner Tips for Stormfall

Oberon:

I'll be adding to this as I go, but basically the first thing you need to do is follow your tasks that Oberon gives you. They're listed over on the left hand side, and each task gives you an xp bonus.

So basically it works like this. You can build 10 elf archers, and you get the 10 elf archers, or you can build them when he tells you to and get the 10 elf archers plus an xp bonus or free units. So you might as well do them in the order he tells you, until you get a feel for the game, because you get free stuff that way. Another thing t https://19216811.cam/hat's  good about doing them in his order is that he'll give you units that you can't yet build for yourself, which is always good.

Battlefields:

Beyond that, battlefields are an easy way to get more free stuff and they don't get mad at you for attacking the way other players do, so check those out. Getting the most rewards from them is complicated so I'll come back to that.

Daily Quests: https://1921681001.id/

You get free daily quests over on the left that you can do 3x a day. Basically you just click a button and get free resources. Its brainless but its free so do it. If you join a league (wait til Oberon tells you to do it if you want another bonus) then you get extra daily quests so definitely do that. You can just join a random one if you dont know which one to join.

Every evening when the day resets you can click on little resource guys hidden around your fortress. The game calls them tributes, but its warthogs for food, goblins with pots of gold for gold, and skeletons for iron. Again, its mindless but its free so do it.

Friends:

If you add friends you can visit their castles and get some extra tributes from them, among other benefits, so definitely add some friends. Having friends lets you trade with them faster, send them reinforcements faster, build extra wraiths for free, etc so its a good idea all around.

Achievements:

If you go to the top left corner there's a crown labeled "feats of valor" that lists the possible achievements for the game. I highly reccomend that you check this often because each achievement gets you free units or resources so you want to take the time to knock out any of them that you're close to. (Third party advertisment has been removed Warning sent to poster )

For instance, if you get 50 free spies for doing 100 spy missions, and you're at 98 missions, its easier to do 2 more spy missions than it is to build more spies yourself, right?

Another very easy one is to get a friend and send him reinforcements, then recall them after awhile. You get free units for doing that and there's nothing to it. Strictly speaking you dont have to even send them to a friend, it could be to anyone, but you need friends anyway.

Quests:

You also get tons of free units for doing quests, but I'll come back to that later as well.

Raids:

Your best and in some ways fastest and easiest way of getting resources is to raid other players for them (wait til Oberon tells you to for a bonus). Bear in mind that its considered very bad form to raid other players by most leagues. They have the idea that its ok to fight over towns or sieges of 3rd party players, but attacking another person's castle directly is rude. So if you do that enough times be prepared for some punative raids on you by league-mates of the guys you've been hitting.

The best way to raid is to look around you for 1) guys who aren't in leagues, 2) guys who seem to be relatively low level and 3) guys who don't seem to be advancing in level. Keep an eye on them for a day or two, and if you dont see them moving from level 8 to 9, for instance, they're probably inactive since that should only take 2 hours to level up. 4) always send a spy mission over before you raid to see what they guy's defenses are like, and if you can't handle them without taking losses, dont attack. you won't get enough resources to make up for anything more than extremely minor troop losses so its not worth it.

Its always a good idea to send them a message and ask if they're an active player and see if you get a message back. After you've done all that, you can mount a raid on them and get a portion of their resources. You can only rob a guy for 50k resources a week so if you're going to be raiding alot you should try to keep up with how much you've hit each player for.

I usually make my raids on my bigger targets (raids that give me 50k in one attack) on Mondays, just so i can keep it straight. For smaller guys, maybe just hit them once or twice a day. If you're netting 3k resources from them per raid then you can do that indefinitely because its a rolling week, not a calendar week.

Catacombs:

Speaking of raids, you have a catacombs in your castle, just like everyone else. A catacomb is basically a bunker. You can hide units in there and they can't be attacked, but you can't hide resources. So if you see an attack incoming, first move your units you dont want in the fighting to the catacomb, and then try to spend as much as you can before it hits and your opponents will do the same, which is another reason to only raid inactives until you get the hang of things.

Your offensive units are terrible at defense so they should be kept in the catacombs at all times, unless they're on a raid. Do not just leave them hanging around your castle or they're going to die. I know its a pain to constantly put them in the catacombs but dont get lazy.

If you decide to take a break from the game or go on vacation or something, it might be a good idea to put your defensive units in the catacombs too, to keep them safe while you're gone.

General Fighting Tips:

If you're about to attack someone who might actually kill some of your units, you might want to consider whether or not you want to risk just the units you can currently build, or use some of your more powerful awarded units that you can't replace. There are pro's and con's to either but just bear in mind that it takes months of game time before you can build a dragon so if you lose the ones Oberon gives you then you aren't getting more easily.

i'll go more into this later.

Sieges and Settlements:

Don't siege anyone til Oberon tells you to. It pays much less than raiding and its not really worth doing until you're powerful enough to hold a siege on a decently high level player. You aren't going to be able to keep control of a settlement for more than 15 minutes (literally) until you're at least level 50 so leave them alone too, for now.

Log in Every Day

You get free bonuses for logging in every day, and they get better the more days in a row you log in. If you miss a day you start back at the beginning, so logging in every day is a completely free way to get free units and upgrades, some of which are pretty valuable and some of which are nearly worthless. You get free gems on days 30, 60 and 90.

Premium Content

You can pay for gems and buy stuff with them that you can't get any other way, if you so choose. If you do that, I would suggest you start by buying an additional craftsman. That will let you build more than one thing at a time which will help alot. Also as soon as you spend real money on the game you lose the ads, which is nice and you get to build the Temple of Weor, which gives you bonuses to your Gold and Iron production.

Beyond that, as always Oberon will suggest things for you to buy with your gems so if you dont have any good ideas wait for him to do that and get free stuff to go along with your purchases.

A Word about Unit Types

Each unit has 4 variations of itself. So if you have a dwarf, for instance, you have just a regular "dwarf", and you have an "Imperial Dwarf" and then an "Eldrich Dwarf" and then a "Dark Dwarf". An Imperial dwarf has the same stats as a regular one, it just requires less maintainence resources from you. An Eldrich version has the same stats except that its faster which allows it to travel quicker, and it requires even less resources to maintain. A Dark version has better attack and defense and requires less resources than a vanilla version but I'm not sure if its less than Eldrich.

So anyway, if someone attacks you with 50 Imperial Pikemen, its going to hit as hard as 50 Pikemen. Ditto 50 Eldrich Pikemen, although that attack will be faster. 50 Dark Pikemen will hit harder than the other 3, so just bear that in mind if you're attacking or defending.

You can buy "Imperial" versions of any troop type you can normally buy, by spending gems at your barracks. That might be a good idea if you have more troops than you can support with the number of farms you have, since it will drop your maintainence requirements. Eldrich and Dark troop types are harder to come by, and at first the only way to get them will be to do quests or tasks for Oberon or your League, or win them at Battlefields.

So, that's it for now. I'll add more later.
