The normal chance of getting a grade V champion from a holy bond is 25%, so with 2x event the chance is 50%.  That means the chance of using 3 holy bonds is (1-0.5)^3= 12.5% = 1/8.  So if 8 people each open 3 holy bonds, one of them won't get a single grade V champ (and one of them will get all 3 grade Vs).  You got unlucky, that's just how odds work.  

That's why in my league we recommend that our members wait for the guaranteed champion events, where if you open 3 holy bonds you have a 100% chance of getting exactly the champion you want in grade V.  

Sorry the odds didn't turn out in your favor.
