Castle Name Changes

A recent change on Facebook is planned to hit Plarium servers very soon

Inactive castles will have their names changed to Hero No14821562 etc - http://prntscr.com/lpfin9

Players who return to the game are forced to start a new castle at level one (very bad idea)

Everyone has complained about this, but it is yet another stupid directive from Europe to preserve privacy and security

This makes no sense on plarium servers, where our castles use fake names and avatars and are not linked to facebook accounts etc

Castle names and avatars need to be protected on plarium

p.s. I am English and voted Brexit as you might have guessed

Hello!

It was done according to the GDPR regulation. To abide by the law, we had to remove personal data of players who didn't enter the game for more than three years.

We had to take these actions in order to provide our users with a safe environment and address personal data issues with necessary precautions as required by international law.

Yes, personal data of these players were removed, but their progress in the game, achievements, Units, Buildings, Leagues remained untouched.

Also, the cases when players return to the game after they were absent for more than 3 years are close to zero.

On plarium.com servers the personal data of such players will be removed as well.

That's the whole point (which you deliberately ignore as usual)

We get to choose our usernames/avatars and can change them at any time.
You can choose a fake name or use multiple identities every day
You can even login as Incognito

Facebook players do not get any choice, and their castles can be traced back to their facebook pages

Please ignore all of my posts in future, unless you have something new and interesting to say, instead of just trolling

you arent based in a european union country and arent bound to that law.

why obey this law and not others though?  what about laws regarding gambling and loot boxes?

Sometimes companies have to follow the laws of countries they operate in even if they aren't based in that country, to avoid lawsuits and/or fines.

Some laws are enforced more strenuously than others I guess.  Loot box laws are still new, so nobody really knows how well they'll be enforced yet, and so few countries have passed them.
