Strong Player Monopolizes Hamlet Sapphires

OK, this guy is a bigshot, kudos for him.  Level 123, Thunder of Synergy, leader of #1 league in Stormfall.

Not illegal to do, just unfair he is controlling almost the entire asset of Sapphires in the Hamlets.  So maybe out of 5 or 6 Hamlet sites for Sapphires, he controls almost all of them.  I mean, by control, he has such a massive defense on them that whatever you send to defeat just melts away.

Just think there should be limits, just sayin'.  There are other big level players, and they do not do that.

Was game designed with that intent??

Yes.... If you big enough you can do whatever you want and feel like. There is no rules against that.. This is a pay 2 win game, and Plariums focus is on get the players to spend as much as possible.. Buy troops, get bigger... do whatever.

Interesting that he bothers to farm the sapphires.

To have that much defence that you can safely hold multiple hamlets you probably had to mega coin. In which case you wonder why the effort to earn a tiny amount of free sapphires would be of interest to the player.

Wonder if you will find your nemesis has quit the game and another player is now running the account (i.e. it got big from mega coining, but is now run by someone who doesn't spend).
Or just want to be a "denial" factor. If you big enough to go into a "this is MINE NOW" is also a play style of some players. I call it the "its good to be the king" factor... If you ever played AOE2 back in the day, you would know the emote very well.

or a large enough defense on the hamlets reaps high enough pvp rewards to offset his losses so he thinks its worth it?

I don't play hamlets, cant be bothered you cannot hold them without putting massive defense in them so its not worth the effort for me to play them

Or maybe he's just a shrewd coiner ...one who collects 18k in sapphires every day ... over 500k a month ... not too mention the tourney rewards and unit XP that are earned ...so while the 500k in sapphs every month may seem insignificant to others, I will gladly keep collecting it :)

To address the initial point though, you may want to upgrade your Eagle's nest as I see 12 jewelers hamlets pretty much all the time so there are several left for others to utilize ...

As for the "big shot" line, I am by no means a big shot ... just a player on server 3 ( the little server that could ) who invites you to join us in Synergy, Where the whole is greater than the simple sum of its parts !

And that goes for all the server 1 and 2 players also ... let's have a party on server 3 :)

lol well congrats on your shrewdness!! and good point regarding the eagles nest

not sure how big your coiners are but I refuse to lose my defense to the ones that have over a billion in offense on Dark Plains - hence why I do not play hamlets

A coiner is a coiner is a coiner. You might have coined before but you're are still a coiner.

I know its embarrassing. But don't deny it. We all coined at sone point.

No big deal. You holding that hamlet is a show of wallet power. Hey its a capitalist world. No big deal

But a coiner is a coiner is a coiner.

There is coining, and there is COINING....  There is a big difference between someone spend a 10 every other month and someone spending houndres or even thousands..

Was there a point you were trying to make or were you just trolling again??  I don't think coiners are embarrassed when they use their massive armies to wipe people out.

Precisely. I'd rather believe these hardworking, "non-coiner" hardcore grinders, with no real money to boot and therefore embarrassed max enough to face good players in real life with a successful income, able to progress the game a fair bit faster because they started later, so to bring themselves on level footing ground with again those hardcore "non-coiner" grinders.

Somehow I keep seeing these same sour grape jelly bean names up-in-arms against "coiner" (whatever this term they coin up meant). Good luck & have fun all!

They so cute when they are new. Assuming your registration date... When I started this game I was all excited with the I won't need to spend much, I'm a grinder by nature (any game), I compensate lack of spending by spent time and effort... Well you can not compensate spending with effort and spent time in this game. The gap between those is like the size of grand canyon several times over. It could been helped if they greatly reduced the training time of troops, but that will never happen. You will soon enough become a sour grape jelly bean as well, you just haven't gotten to the "do you take the red jelly bean, or do you take the blue jelly bean moment yet :p

Calling out "capitalist", dictating how a person should spend their own money of ten bucks or a few hundred million dollars and telling them they are so stupid -- these are hallmarks of sour grape.

Constructive feedback and criticism is good. Negative, placard-holding-protest-standing-outside-mcdonalds-telling-everyone-dont-be-stupid-to-buy-expensive-french-fries, is bad. The world of difference between the two is the distance between Earth's grand canyon and Mars.

I certainly look forward to the day I become a sour grape for the sake of a game. This will be one serious lifetime achievement I need to unlock.

If people want to spend WHATEVER on a game because the game allows it, that is their choice. You can't blame players for doing what a game allow them to do. Rich people got more to spend that way than those not so rich, but that also create an unbalance in the game. You will get the "haves and the have nots" and the have nots will never be able to compete. In a lot of games this is balanced in a way that if you spend more time and effort (grinding) you can still compete, but in Plarium games that is not possible. It just create a class system of rich and poor and some stuck in between. If you think that make for a good game, that is your choice, but for me and many others we do not.

So from time to time we see frustrated people come to the forums and complain about the big ones, but they complain about the wrong reasons. No need to complain about some player got big due to coining. You should complain about Plarium allowing for such a unbalance to the system is being allowed. Nothing been made to reduce the gap, quite the opposite. In the end, players need players, rich as poor. But a common ground need to be in place, so the poor doesn't just end up become the play things and farms of the rich with no way to oppose and fight back.

Years of constructive feedback, suggestion about changes to close the gap and so on, lead no where...  So its either, step aboard the train and join the ride or jump off knowing it will trainwreck.

500k saphires a month for free does sound pretty nice :P  Couldn't do that on server 1 though, there are too many people with 1bil+ offense who lack enough sense to test hit before just slamming it into your hamlet.

Bet we can guess which category you fall into then :P  I don't have any problem with coiners, somebody has to fund the game.  I do feel bad for the people who spend more money than they can afford on the game though (I've seen a few who've spent their life savings on it).

Can you explain how player coining "fund the game".

Where did you get this info. And how do they fund the game, which part. Do they pay operation fee, server fees, security fee?

I haven't heard of a game that run exclusively on player coining. Even fortnite, which is the best game hands down. Even EVE, nor does candy crush

High level players can play defense effectively, deploying aircraft carriers to defend oil harvesting hamlets and inviting equally strong challengers :D

Not only I have received superb customer service from Olga, but the brains behind this game have put some well thought out strategic elements into it.

Sometimes, I start ponder if Plarium got bots that respond to things on this forum :p
