Every aspect of this game has become a losing proposition.
there is nothing in this "game" where the player comes out ahead without spending money.
I have very fond memories of building millions in def in Eberron through BGs without spending a penny. Then losing it all in beacons. Fast forward to KTIV and I rebuild from scratch - again through BGs and not spending a cent. Then losing it all again in beacons. Twice.
Funny thing is, I hold no grudge against Azog and Co for that. And they know it. That was the game. You dust of your donkey, have a beer and get back to it. You just rebuild. And it wasnt really hard.
Like I said. Very fond memories. Those were fun times. Build .. splat .. rebuild .. splat .. rebuild ... get splatted again.
Then things changed. Plarium forgot they need us pesky little peasants who dont pay to play as fodder for the big fellas to kill sometimes too. Now try as I might its virtually impossible to rebuild 1/10th of the troops I once had in the exact same way I used to.
And even though at one point I was tempted to go dig out my credit card, as things are now, I would not bother.
BG payouts seriously stink in comparison to before. What once was really Legendary tournament rewards are now just plain Common. Wheel of Fortune got stuck on stuff not worth buying. The items most needed to compete and survive cost 3 arms and a leg (sketches?). Need I go on?
Plarium, you cannot keep the game going just with the big coiners. Its a no-brainer.
You need to throw the peasants a meaty bone more often too. No wonder so many have lost interest.
