Best way to building your walls?

Okay. I would think by now I should know this, or have read this somewhere & saved the info, but. What is the best, most cost effective way, to building up your walls for def around your castle?

Simply hitting the good old "edit" button, then clicking "upgrade", gives you a cheaper, discount price, but, it will only go up to the next level beyond what you are upgrading, i.e. if you hit upgrade, on a level 2 wall, it will only upgrade to level 3, even if you have level 5 unlocked. Granted now, you get the discount price, but, doing this, to me, looks like it may cost a fortune.

Then, there is the option of "destroying" the wall, gate, etc., then building the highest level you have available, which, will cost more now, but, in the long run is it cheaper?

Curious on what more experienced players say on this, as I am at level 4, close to level 5 unlocked, & my walls look like a hodge podge of levels. Level 4 gates, 4 corner towers & sentry's level 4, part of my walls are level 3, but I just realized the other day, I forgot to upgrade the other sections of my walls, & my other towers/sentry's before, so, a bunch of them are at level 1 or 2. Am I better to just tear down these low levels I forgot like a dummy, & bump them to 4 or 5 when it is unlocked, or, just go through the cheaper, slower, upgrade process one level at a time? I recall many, many moons ago reading something on this, but don't remember where, or what it said.

it seems that the best way is to tear down you corner walls and then you can buy the level 5 towers and gate when discounts come obviously it will be cheaper if you buy level 5 walls during discounts than upgrade it,in this case of course it is smarter.

thats a topic should be posted in game discussion not in game tutorial

in game tutorial you post an advice you have to give to the other not game questions so next time be more corefull :)

Moved it. You're right, it better be in game discussions.

And interesting question anyway. I started to build my wall when I had discovered Level 5 wall already. So I never came to the question what is the best way to upgrade it. But I could imagine that it really would be best to use the special offers on walls as they come up and upgrade step by step not all at once just as Sison suggests.

eatch player has his/her style i am not the ideal person to advice you about it ,although since there is no discounts on upgrades what i have to say is that it is cheaper to buy a wall, gate, tower, or sentry during discounts and not to upgrade.

personally guys i have upgraded my walls but i learnt the last months that there is better ways,if you have level 1 or level 2 sentry ,gate tower or wall then it worth to destroy it and buy a sentry,tower , gate or wall level 5 during discounts

the walls which are level 1 and 2 can be demolished and be replaced from a level 5 walls bought during discounts,in this case we can talk about benefit,but you should nt destroy a high level wall,only level 1 and 2 and it should be replaced only from a wall level 5

if you decide to destroy a level 3 gate, tower, wall ,sentry,then keep in mind that if you want to have benefits you should replace that walls during a discount higher than 50%,,thats why i dont suggest you to destroy a level 3 ,it is nt easy to find big discounts ,but yes even in this case you can have benefit if you chose the right discounts although i would nt suggest you to destroy a level 3 you will need big dicsounts ,thats why play smart and demolish only 1 and 2 level ,then raise the saphires you need and buy level 5 during a strong discount :)

players who have the patience to raise the saphire instead of upgrade can have serious benefits, but keep in mind never destroy a high level wall only close to 1 or 2 level !!! :)

The cost are all the same. It cost the same amount of sapphire to buy a level 5 wall, or to upgrade one from level 1 to five.

Most figured it'd a waste to wait many moons, best to buy a level 5 wall at one go. I don't remember the ammout, but a friend once told me it took plus minus 150 K sapphire. It took me 25K to upgrade from level 4 to 5.

That is correct, the costs for buying a level 5 are the same as buying a level 1 then upgrading it to 5. EXCEPT that the discounts you get from daily discount generator and the periodic 25% discount events plarium does only affect buying walls, not upgrading them. So if you have a discount it's better to just buy level 5 walls.

You can have up to 20 level 5 turrets (960 sapphs each), 4 gates (960 each) 12 towers (640 each) and 80 walls (400 each) for a total of 62720 sapphires.

Hopfully guys we agree on it so we can help our friend in the best way so the conclusion is that

it is cheaper to buy all walls level 5 during discounts instead of upgrade

*as dj moody said it takes looong time but the fact is it is cheaper so if you have patience you can have a good saphire benefit

*also if you demolish a level 1 or level 2 wall, gate etc also worth if you build a level 5 directly during discounts

the other parameter is that discounts counts only for one wall per time so even if you have 20k saphire available you can build only one wall per discount, thats one more problem ,i never noticed discounts where you can buy more than one wall in discount ,over here i would like to be adviced from someone else

if exist something like that yes it worth but if you have to build one wall per dscounts ( although you have enough saphires to build more walls)then it takes ages, we should also make clear that parameter

if someone can help on it would be great

*(i think after that question we will be able to desing a short guide about how you can build walls in a smart way and post it in the game tutorial :) )

You cannot buy 20 Turrets, only 12
You can buy 88 Walls, not 80

Buying low level walls is a waste of sapphires because you will need to destroy them later, and it is very unlikely that they will deter raiders
It may be wiser to spend your sapphires on castle expansions and improvements, which are all permanent ... just wish the Wheel of Fortune gave more frequent discounts on stuff like this, instead of garbage like teleports that appear 3 or 4 times per week.
Whoever added these to the wheel probably got the decimal point in the wrong place - they should have a 5% drop rate not 50%

No it does not - you pay FULL price. You have probably wasted thousands of sapphires upgrading your walls believing that you got a 'discount'

Upgrades need to be included in discount offers, but I have said this many times and been ignored

Sorry, I don't have my walls fully upgraded on stormfall, so I was going with the numbers on one of plarium's other games, but apparently they're not the same.

The drop rates for fortificaton discounts used to be higher (along with the discounts for troop building and certain other things) but they have been adjusted over time. So the current drop rates probably aren't an accident.

Unfortunately, I had purchased a full set of lvl 1 walls waaaaayyy back when I started about 2 years ago. Before I found out cost involved versus upgrading, etc. I recall reading a long time ago about the benefit of just going straight to lvl 5. Which I wish I had known before purchasing the full lvl 1 setup. Oh well.

Only thing I may run into, as I think someone said I can take a LONG time upgrading everything during discounts, if I remember, during most of the fortification discounts, it usually only let's you upgrade 3 walls/gates/ etc during the discount. Can't say for sure, but I think that is correct. Others stuff, like guards & what not, it has a limit of 20, but I think walls, etc has a limit of 3. We'll see.

Having already bumped all my gates, towers, & ballista to lvl 4, I think I will just take all the walls that are sitting at lvl 1 - 3, & tear them down, go straight to 5. Gonna end up spending it anyway, so might as well just do it all in one shot. Spendy, but meh, what can ya do? Needs to be done eventually right if ya wanna be competitive.

you can find diiscounts were there i s no limits,just read the description of eatch discount carefully,this is what community manager told me when i asked about it and i transfer it to you

i am not talking about upgrade only about direct purchase

your topic is good example for more players thats why i made a tutorial about smart walls building cause i think is important issue
