is this a strategy game? who plays strategy games? you would think it to be the intellectuals, who think, reason and process, those who choose the best path of value for value. how does enduring the manipulations fit in to that perception.
i still cannot build my walls with x/x/x. in other games you build your walls with x/x/x and can create your personal coat of arms as a level 1. a coat of arms, a personal pride from day 1. this game says no to achievement overrides to people who have spent alot of time as well as money jumping through the manipulative hoops.

as for me i will drop my cues to zzz's again and be afk for the summer. it is not worth my real life time and effort to build towards nothing. i cannot wait any longer for change.
It's a strategy game, but with the option to use money to compensate for lack of strategy/patience.
I agree, it is strange that the defender doesn't get many points for being fireballed but can still lose a lot of units.
As for resource sinks, you just have to be careful what you hit, and do the math before committing your troops.
resource sinks: the problem is it isn't strategy. it is a 1/1 kdr power loss for the raid mechanic. if you defend your castle on a siege, then you get no pvp points if you overwhelm them. so to win you must accurately guess how much they are sending and how much to put out so that you get more than the 1/1 kdr and it has to be less than domination or you get no points. if you get no points for overwhelming by protecting your castle then that is even more of a resource sink than if you got pvp points.
resource sink: a resource sink is anything that sinks resources rather than builds them. if you lose resources, then it is sunk how can strategy be used unless you are playing both characters? and patience, i have played for almost 2 years and it is extremely rare for me to find enough troops to overwhelm them on sieges. and no i am not attacking blinged out active castles. if you overwhelm by sieging a siege then you get credit for attack, this is the offense advantage along with fireballs. the defense is the one that gets no credit.
gameplay: = do not defend your castle = do not play game = it is not worth my real life time and effort to build towards nothing. a year ago i posted a list of 6 grievances. one of those grievances was that my army i had built had no value, another was that defending yourself had no value. 1 year later with my army larger than it was then, those two grievances are still the same, they have not changed. the only grievance that might have changed is that they might get a functioning game client completed in time.
resource sink: if resources are lost and not replaced in the same function that is a sink, being patient for the non-sink situation during any engagement is like putting more and more resources into bgs thinking you will eventually get ahead or break even. the only people who can do it are those who siege a willing friend or their alts, the only player in my area who even understood working together, left the game for his family, he is the intelligent, honorable player. he chose his family over pressing all weekend in order to meet tournament goals.
the only growth path is resource raiding, this mostly on bots, maybe 15% being inactive castles. this is the only growth path within gameplay, everything else is a resource sink. it is not worth my real life time and effort to build towards nothing. that means that spending one to two hours a day raiding resources to set ques and build an army that has no value, especially defending my castle, my home, has no value, that if i engage, it will simply sink those hours of raiding away to nothing.
if you have a true plausible pvp engagement that i can patiently wait on, that will be a growth path and not a resource sink, this not involving master, alts or friends, working around the true vision and direction of the game/business model, please pm me with it.
