Hello Archon!
I am pretty sure are better buildings to upgrade first than the Acropolis! For example, harbor, port and the resource ones!

The acropolis is kinda useless to get upgraded among the first..Unless you love the green and you got extra sketches and the most important thing..You tend to log in once per day or so..Or you forget to hide your units :)
For a person who raids yes I agree that port and harbor are essential (up to the point you get 51K of galleys) so that you can get the 100K of resources without sweating much! But I think it's useless for someone who doesn't raid much. But couldn't agree more about the resource production buildings, they are of great importance whether you raid or not cause your resource production is boosting significantly. As for the acropolis I believe it's useful too. Depends what way you see it!

Out of all plariums recent additions, this is the one I like. Will cut down on troop management, your trained troops won't get mixed in with def already out, so no fiddly removals and also allows offense to build in safety. Players were asking for this long ago, but maybe expected the feature not to be a buy in upgrade. Bare in mind it only stashes training build queue not any returning units. I have not used market auto-hider as I've never liked to buy temp items, but I think that also hides your returning units as well.

As you can see it says clearly it's about trained units and not returning units. But either way you units are safe when returning from a pan attack no matter if they hit the target or not. If they hit and some of them survive they go straight into acropolis. Same applies if someone returns your units back to your city in case someone has conquered the pan before you and your offense enters the pan as reinforcements. Once they return your units from the pan they will go directly into acropolis. Furthermore if you get kicked out of a coalition for one reason or another your defensive troops will go straight into acropolis. They stay out of acropolis if you hit a city and the ones that survived return to your city. Or if the offense you have sent to a fellow member to carry out a coalition attack is returned back to you without having hit their target!
