If my memory serves me right, you will need to wait about 7 days, that´s the period that our devs need to confirm the absence of the hegemon and appoint another one.

You have to have the consent of the other members in your coalition if you want to take over. Message the members and print screen their consent as you will need this as proof to send to Plarium. The Hegemon will have to have been gone for three weeks or longer with no notice of absence i.e. holiday etc. Plarium will then promote you. keep checking your emails as it could take days.

You will notice the change when you log in and check your rank. you will also get a message in game.
