We would need to see a screen shot of the battle to give accurate information.
The combat mechanics work based on the total offense strength vs the total defense strength.
It is very possible for a single dimacha unit to have 50,000 offense value. If this dimacha was to meet basic javelins that have not been upgraded (with a defense value of 20) a single dimacha can kill well over 2000 javelins without being killed himself.
This is an extreme example, as no one actually has javelins that have zero upgrades, but it shows how a very strong army can kill a very weak army if one is upgraded, uses guardians well, has generals gear, agreements, temporary boosts, city schema, dominion bonus, etc. and it attacks someone that has weak troops that lack bonuses.

Thank you for your accurate answer here, Banshee.
And yes, we have a lot of ways to upgrade our troops' type now, the bonuses from upgrading are huge. Lately, I have been checking some reports where troops looked like paper troops...
here are pictures of the attack and defense that happened and i think it is impossible that he could have killed so many of mine.4.3b def vs k off

my horseman would win
and now I'm going to do the tests myself and test what's going on
asked now if my units 1 would have died if I had 150k warriors in each unit.
I will do the tests now and send the pictures and tell them where the error is

Hello M-ROBERT BLK. I saw your battle reports. The units that this player sent to break your siege, turned into offensive units it is why his units have the lead javelineer guardian with them. Of course, to try to break a siege to a besieged city with defensive units isn't the right way. So, a 32 level 1000 Javelineers have 42.270 offensive points, without counting any offensive boost item, and without the % of the Lead, javelineer boosts. Your guardian's affinity lost the battle with the attacker's affinity, so the player had a plus of 25% on the 5.4% on his Javelineers offensive status. The mechanic of a battle is very complicated and only the Support team has the tools to check the battle as they have to check a lot of battle parameters on both sides. So, you can send to the Support your total battle report, and ask them to analyse the battle for a possible bug.
