Discounted unit revival

hi, I privately sent plarium a message out of courtesy but the reply got me hitting the roof. Looking at the image, it is clear that the extension is wrong. How can 150 X 5  be 788.......

above was the reply..Come on man, even a 12 year old can multiply better than your program if this is the case. It is not a special formula, it is errouneous extension. And No again, it is not a rounding down - it is a roundup......

looks to be 150 * 2 = 300, which is different than 315.

also 150 * 5 = 750, which is different comparing to 788

Hello!

The original revival price of 1 Hoptile unit is 10.5 Drachmas server-side. It's rounded off to 11 Drachmas in the game for players' convenient calculation.

You receive an extra 60% discount of the already reduced price by 50%. Which is 10.50 - 50% = 5.25

5.25 * 0.4 = 2.1

2.1*150 = 315

5.25*150 = 787.5 ~ 788

I hope it helps.

Nancy hi....let me point out a few of flaws of your computation. There is no point defending this, it is better that you correct it...

flaw number 1......    you rounded 10.5 to 11....that is wrong. The rules of rounding will tell you that the correct rounding of 10.5 is 10.00

flaw number 2.....     the discount you applied is 40% , plarium offered 60%

flaw number 3.....   your computation involves all round ups... your 10.5 becomes 11.00  , your 787.50 becomes 788.00. This is not good math. let me explain.

as a result of your rounding up, i paid 15 drachmas extra...that is just me. multiply that by the number of players who revives......

so please just make the necessary corrections if not be more transparent...On behalf of all the players of Sparta, thank you for your kind consideration.

10.50 is the initial revival price of this unit. It can't be rounded off to 10.00 because this unit has a fixed price which is 10.50, not 10.00 Drachmas.

flaw number 2..... the discount you applied is 40% , plarium offered 60%

I've edited my previous reply in order for it not to be confusing. All the calculations are still correct.

flaw number 3..... your computation involves all round ups... your 10.5 becomes 11.00 , your 787.50 becomes 788.00. This is not good math. let me explain.

I beg to differ. The general rule for rounding states:

If the number you are rounding is followed by 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9, round the number up.

If the number you are rounding is followed by 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4, round the number down.

I hope my reply clears everything now. Happy gaming!

if it is a fixed price  - you can round up but not round down..... why round it up? why not let it stay at 10.5 since, to borrow your words, fixed !!!!!

based on your general rule of rounding, which i think you better revisit, 10.5 becomes 11.00.....this is totally wrong !!!!

just make the corrections......150 x 5 is 750   if you want it to become 788 then do the corrections.....

150 x 2 is 300 if you want it to become 315 then do the corrections......

As it was already mentioned, the calculation is done server-side taking into account the fixed price. The price is rounded off only on the side of the game for players' convenience and because the game doesn't display tens, hundreds, thousands, and so on in that menu.
