If you only need one to get 10 fragments and purchase the guardian and bought 2; after getting the fragment guardian you should have an extra fragment and should be able to work on the next 10. 

Did you actually open the bond when you use 10 to purchase the fragment guardian? There are two steps, purchase first and then open it like opening the holy bond.

I thought I needed two so I bought two. Then I realized that I had nine and only needed one. so no, I was not able to open the bond. I never saw the bond.

Obviously, I have one fragment to start again, but I feel I have been ripped off the guardian I should have had or at least the gold I spend on ten fragments. You really should have a warning to stop people from buying more than needed to get the bond. Moderators, please help.

It's clear I only have one fragment to restart, but I can't shake the feeling that I've been shortchanged on the guardian I was supposed to receive, or at the very least, the gold I spent on ten fragments. There should definitely be a warning in place to prevent others from making the same mistake of purchasing more fragments than necessary to obtain the bond. Hello Archon. To be able to get 1 fragment  guardian you need 10 fragments. To get them you need  3 months and the golden coins of course.  If you have the 10 required fragments, go to the guardians' items, and you will find, beside the holy bonds, a new bond named fragmentary bond. Just use its bar and apply the 10 fragments. There are 4 types of fragment guardians, V and IV, and we can enlight them as well, so no fragment will go wasted, as it is a long procedure. Good luck . 

It's possible that the "apply" button was not highlighted because there was not enough space to apply a bond to summon any type of guardian. There have to be free slots. It can also take more than a few minutes for the apply button to be useable even when you have freed up a slot. Sometimes it is quicker just to refresh the page. It may also be that you did have available slots for summoning guardians but that the game is just a bit slow to update something new like showing the bond you have just purchased with your fragments. Waiting a few seconds then refreshing the game should be sufficient for it to update and show your new bond.

(This slowness in updating is a problem in various areas of Plarium games, for instance, in the events menu, sometimes it it necessary to refresh the app one or more times for a particular event to show. Sometimes it is because one hasn't claimed enough rewards from events that have finished and there is no room for another event to come through, but with certain events, even when you have enough space, the new event doesn't show up the first time. This is particularly a problem with the overlords tournament when it can take more than 2 reloads for it to show. And for other events like guardian xp it has happened to me more than once to waste a lot of guardian energy doing guardian battles when I knew the event should be on, only to go into events later and discover that the event wasn't showing and when I then claimed some rewards from various finished events to make room for new events to come through and the guardian xp event showed up, I saw that it hadn't given me any points for the guardian xp battles that I had fought.)

I have a question of my own regarding fragment guardians: Where do you obtain high ranking fragment guardians that have not been enlightened? Since summoned guardians cannot normally be higher than rank 3 I presume they must be purchased or won but I don't know where or how! 

Hello. The fragment guardians are like the other guardians, we get them at 1 level, and we can upgrade them as normal. To be able to get fragment guardians you have to spend labours' golden coins in the coalition shop. The offered fragments are 3 per month, and you need 10 fragments to summon a fragmentary bond. After you open the fragmentary bond and you will get a random fragment guardian. It is a very long procedure, and even if I have 3-4 fragment guardians and I upgraded

 them to 8 stars, I wasn't able to enlighten them yet  🙂I give you some screenshots to understand the procedure. If you want any other advice, please let me know.

You are right Archon. To be able to get points for a tournament, the tournament tab has to be visible. The players, for unknown reasons, keep a lot of unclaimed tournaments, but in that way, the new tournament doesn't have free space to appear. The player's specific post was for the fragment guardians. It seems that he didn't read the ingame text correctly, and he thought that we could have 1 fragment guardian out of 1 fragment piece, but it needs 10 fragments to open the Fragmentary bond, as already explained to him.
