Temporary Skins price

This has been one of my gripes for a while...

Plarium is a marketing company yet their "sales" algorithms are so primitive it is ridiculous.

If you are a "coiner" they track your purchases and adjust future offers to "trick" you into spending more money.

They continuously test your IQ by lowering the content of the packages or raising the price.

One of the absurd features is the special offer price ratchet... Once you spend more on one package - No matter what is in it - all future offers are at the "new" elevated price.  You need to stop buying anything for a week or two before they realize that the "new" pricing isn't working for you and bring back the old price.

For example the new feature of time limited city schemas.  The top one (Helios) costs $19.95 in the US.  If purchased, all future offers for ANYTHING now costs $19.95 even what you bought yesterday for $9.95.

The "Helios" package has nothing to do with Drachma purchases so why are they linked?

At the grocery store you buy hamburger for $4.99/Lb.  One day you have guests and buy ribeye steaks for $12.99/Lb... the next day hamburger is priced at $12.99/Lb.  Obviously they think you're too dumb to realize that hamburger isn't the same as ribeye.

And if you bought caviar for $500/Lbs - now you should be willing to pay $500/Lbs for hamburger?

That appears to be  Plarium's reasoning.  It is kind of insulting.

Five times the price, but not even twice the content. That's Plarium in a nutshell.

No money from me in this case.

Yes, Plarium are on the road to self destruction. The game has got stale and boring. Players have left in droves. Coiners are not even benefitting any more. I don't pay to play. Upgrade times are one of the numerous issues that Plarium thinks is acceptable. Amateurs.

The point of my post was not the pricing of the skins but the whole idea that Customers only look at how much they spend and not what they get for their money... the same happens if you accept any other offer at a higher price than previous offers.  One reason I would never buy an Emerald package as I am sure buying one immediately ratchets up the price of all Drachma packages.

I will never buy a temporary city skin again as it doubles the price of all Drachma packages for several weeks.  Plarium got my $19.90 but lost at least 15 x $9.95 sales over the next 2 weeks as I will buy nothing until pricing returns to "normal".  Makes no sense at all.

Plarium has almost convinced me that there is no reason to spend ANY money on the game anymore.  I have been a regular "coiner" for at least 2 years so I will deprive them of real revenue.

One suggestion for Plarium: If you don't want to change your sales algorithms at least allow players to buy the rare items (Skill Stones, Holy Bonds, Helios city schema etc.) for drachmas/emeralds at prices that parallel their $ market value.  I will never pay $19.95 for the Helios skin again but I may pay 40,000 drachmas since I can buy the drachmas without affecting future offer prices.

Agree on everything said. Again. Just like all the people playing Plarium. The difference is ONLY that they don't want to waste 5-10 minutes to read/write at this forum.

They should remove this ridiculous algorithm.

BUT NOTHING WILL CHANGE.

Obviously you buy a food processor for $29.95 you are willing to pay $29.95 for socks... right?   Absurd linking of prices to unrelated items.  Plarium has less and less to sell because it is becoming apparent to most players that the whole thing is a pointless sham.

You buy stuff to lose it in lousy tournaments or when you get massacred by some super player from Nordmann or Cultus and you can clearly see that there is no benefit to be gained from it.  The game is getting boring.

I lost my entire defense to Nordmann defending the capital of my coalition... it will take me years to rebuild it just to get it killed again... hmmm... why is it I play this game again??  No more money going from my wallet to Plarium until they make a serious effort to make the game fun again.
