It seems that troops become deselected every time any troops arrive back in the city. Same thing happens if they are returning from an emporium. It seems to reload and cancel what you have selected. The same thing happens in the coalition arena. It's very annoying when you have selected a guardian that is not at the maximum level for its rank so that you can increase its level only to find the selection has jumped to the default which is the maximum level guardian and so wasting an opportunity to increase the level, and if there is a guardian xp tournament on at the same point you don't get any points for a guardian that can't increase its level any further because it is at the maximum for its rank. It even happens when other players are fighting challengers at the same time. It reloads for every litte thing and cancels your selection.
