At first glance this new feature looks to most as if it’s a coiners dream and significantly slants the playing field against those that care to play for free.
However, on analysis, it is apparent that this is NOT in fact the case. The new features basically improve the player’s ability to create and gather resources. However, to take advantage of these new improvements, the player already needs to be maxed out and well on his way through the game. If he or she knows their stuff, they are already overflowing with resources every day anyway without spending a penny.
The new features simply give those willing to invest a little pocket / entertainment money something else to work on. Something that may improve their playing experience, but something that in no way gives them a tactical advantage.
If anything, these new features decreases the whale players need to raid so much each day, and may even give a little breathing room to lesser players.
Time will tell of the upgrade designs will be granted as prizes or other means, but whether you use or even need them is open for debate and is a personal choice.
Personally, I like the addition. It requires some thought as to where to best invest, and, at least for a little while, relieves the tedium that the game had become.
