Can anyone tell me how tournament progress is calculated? It doesn't seem to have anything to do with points or contribution from what I can tell. I have asked many people and nobody can tell me.
Each tournament calculates points differently.
In this specific tournament posted by you (I think it's "base development race") the points are determined by the time taken to develop the bases or negotiate the contracts.
The longer the trading time, the higher the points you receive.
In base development, points are earned by renegotiating contracts, as well as by building and upgrading.
While I have not mapped out much of the point system, I can tell you that what you choose to upgrade is important as well as how long it takes.
My personal experience after upgrading a particular building 4 times in a row is that the particular building is worth 1 point more than the level upgraded to. Having earned 5,6,7, and 8 points from levels 4,5,6 and 7 respectively. Time to upgrade this particular building was not proportional to the points gained, and another building gave 8 points with a significantly different build time.
