As far as I have explored & searched the 'field manual' the only way to interact with another player is through asking them for co ords via world chat/pm, adding them to contacts or going throught their combine to view members. 

One improvement I would like to see is the ability to send a message to any player, not just friends & combine. This way once the message is sent you could simply click their name to visit base.

Hi, guys. Unfortunately, we don't have such option. We are limited by Flash technology and we can't add such dynamic features for now. Maybe in future...Who knows

Maybe this feature is still on the back burner, but if so:

I strongly suggest against it (except maybe for Mods or maybe Devs, and only to enforce game regulations.)

Case in point: someone posted a thread about leaving his combine and being attacked as we warped about the map.

The ability to find someone by name makes it easier to bully someone out of the game, and thus is a bad thing. There are enough ways to make contact with a friendly already.
