same problem here. after logging in (after a few months) i had 4 unread messages. clicking every message again, as well as hitting the "mark all as read" button on every page of my messages as well as reloading the game several times (with and without clearing browser cache, trying another browser, ...) didnt help. after deleting all messages manually i suddenly had a correct number of zero unread messages. a few months ago i also sometimes had the problem that it showed me a negative number of unread messages. dont know if that problem still exists.
