Update Highlights 10.00

Hello, Raiders!

Update 10.00 brings two major features - Relics and Chimera (Chimera becomes available a day after the Update) - and promises to be one of the biggest this year. In today’s Update Highlights, we’ll talk about these additions to the game in more detail and point out other noteworthy matters, such as a new Forge Pass, Champion balance patch, and preparations for the Holiday Season.

Relics

Basics

Relics are powerful Champion items that can be equipped like Artifacts or Accessories; they provide Stat bonuses and, more importantly, come with so-called Abilities - effects that work similar to Passive Skills. Furthermore, each Relic can be made even stronger with Gemstones that provide additional effects.

Each Relic belongs to a particular Group: Standard or Chimera, though more will be added later. They require Materials to craft; right now, you’ll only see Ocular Masses, but more will appear as more Groups are added to the game.

To activate a Relic, you can just equip it in the Champion’s Relic tab. It can be removed later by spending Starstone - a new resource - or destroyed for free. The same mechanics apply to Gemstones, which provide additional bonuses to the Relic.

Relics come in four Rarities: Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythical. The higher the Rarity, the higher the Relic’s starting Rank (Rare Relics are Rank 1, Mythical Relics are Rank 4), and the more Gemstone Sockets it has. Naturally, Relics of a higher Rarity have stronger Abilities.

Like Champions and Gear, Relics have a maximum of 6 Ranks denoted by stars on their respective icon. These Ranks can be increased by upgrading the Relic to the highest Level the current Rank allows, then spending Starstone and other Relics or Basalt - a special resource used exclusively for this purpose (not too different from Chicken you use for Champion Rank Up) - of a matching Rank to complete the upgrade.

i

As you increase the Relic’s Rank, new Levels unlock - up to a maximum of 18. You’ll need to spend Starstone to increase Relic Level and improve the Stat bonuses it provides and the Level of its Ability. The second and third bonus Stats remain locked until the Relic reaches Levels 9 and 15, respectively. You’ll need to max your Relics out to unlock the final Ability Level.

i

Gemstones

Each Relic comes with at least one Gemstone Socket. These take one of five shapes (Circular, Triangular, Square, Diamond, and Pentagonal) and will require Gemstones of the corresponding shape to fit in. Once inserted, Gemstones provide an additional passive boon to the Relic.

i

Gemstones come in the same 4 Rarities: Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythical. The higher the Rarity, the stronger that Gemstone’s passive effect will be. That effect cannot be changed, rerolled, or upgraded in any way.

Crafting

Each player will receive a free Relic upon reaching Level 30, but the Forge will be your main source of Relics.

Crafting Materials come in Rare, Epic, Legendary, or Mythical Rarity and can be obtained from Chimera Rewards, though we have a variety of other sources planned for the near future. What makes Relic Crafting stand out is the fact you can mix and match any Materials you like. Note that no matter what you do, there is a 50% chance to receive Relics from the Standard Group upon crafting, so if you just use Ocular Masses obtained in Chimera Battles, you’ll get 50/50 roll on Standard Relics or Chimera Relics. But if you mix another type of Materials with Ocular Masses, you’ll have a 50% chance to get Standard Group and then split chances (depending on the number of Materials used) for Chimera Group and whatever other Group the Materials belonged to.

i

The same is true for Rarity. You can use Rare Crafting Materials only and still get a chance to get Epic, Legendary, or even Mythical Relics from the Forge. But increasing the number of Mythical Materials will greatly improve your chances.

All in all, your Crafting Materials won’t be gathering dust - you can use them whenever you want.

Chimera

Basics

The Chimera is a new Clan Boss with unique battle mechanics and rewards. A day after Update 10.00 goes live, it will become available to all players of level 33 and above; of course, you also need to be in a Clan to fight it. There are 6 Difficulties that unlock consecutively as the Clan completes each one by bringing the Chimera’s HP to 0 through their joint efforts. Doing so will yield double rewards for all Clan members who dealt enough damage to be eligible.

Chimera Raids begin every Friday at 11:30 UTC and lasts 6 days. The reset takes place between Thursday 11:30 UTC and Friday 11:30 UTC. As with other Clan Bosses, you will require Chimera Keys to access fights, and you can have up to 2 Chimera Keys per week.

i

In battle, the Chimera will always swap between 4 Forms on a set rotation: Ultimate Chimera, Ram, Lion, and Viper. It happens once every 5 Boss Turns no matter what you do, and the entire battle will last up to 65 Boss Turns, but no longer - we wanted to make sure Chimera Battles are brief, action-packed, and don’t consume massive chunks of your time. Also note that Chimera Battles will have a separate set of Saved Teams, which will allow you to customize Auto Battles to your liking.

Each of the forms comes with a unique debuff or effect. The Ram Form has [Duel], which challenges a Champion with the lowest C.DMG on the team to single combat. Until that Champion depletes the Duel progress bar (equal to 1% of the Chimera’s MAX HP) or dies, and the Chimera reflects 25% of damage dealt to it by other Champions.

The Lion Form has the [Hunter’s Gaze] debuff - damage to Champions under this effect cannot be decreased, blocked, redirected, and will ignore the vast majority of protective buffs, including Unkillable and Block Damage.

The Viper Form specializes in Poisons and applies [Necrosis] - a stacking debuff that deals more damage per dead ally and can only be removed by reviving those allies.

And the Ultimate Chimera grows stronger with each new Trial you complete (more on Trials in the next section).

Trials

One of the major new additions to this new Clan Boss are the Trials - optional challenges that reset after every Chimera Battle you finish. Progress does not carry over, so you have to complete them all in one go, but doing so will yield further rewards.

There are 27 in total: 9 for each of the Ram, Lion, and Viper Forms. Within those 9, there are 3 Easy, 3 Normal, and 3 Hard Trials. You can view the Trials at any point during the battle if you tap on the Trials icon beneath the Chimera’s HP bar. You can cycle through difficulties and see exactly what rewards you can expect.

i

At the start of the battle, you’ll have 3 Easy Trials to complete. Once you’ve completed one of them, it’ll change to a Normal Trial, and completing that will change it to a Hard Trial. You do not need to complete all 3 Easy Trials to unlock Normal, so it is still possible to progress even if a particular challenge does not fit your team composition.

Chimera Clash

We have a new Clan Competition to complete the feature - Chimera Clash. Despite a similar name and core mechanics, it will differ from the Hydra Clash in several important ways.

The basics are the same: 5 Clans will be matched each week and fight to earn Clash Points and scramble to finish in the top 3 positions to get additional rewards. But the way one earns Clash Points will be different.

i

Rather than rely on pure damage, the best way to win would be completing Trials as fast as possible - each one you beat increases the multiplier for points earned after the fact. So if you manage to close all 27 Trials fast, you’ll be racking up a massive score in that battle even if you deal less pure damage than someone who only completed 10 Trials. Furthermore, multipliers will remain active no matter how many keys you spend on a particular difficulty (they only apply once in Hydra Clash), so don’t worry about the higher numbers you see - those values were chosen to account for the Chimera Clash balance.

Rewards

You can earn rewards by dealing damage to the Chimera (double rewards if the Clan brings its HP down to 0), completing Trials, and earning Chimera Clash Chests and personal Chimera Clash rewards.

Note that this is the only place in the game where you can get Ocular Masses - the Relic Crafting Material required to create Chimera Group Relics. Furthermore, Chimera Chests contain Champion Fragments to summon a powerful Mythical Champion, Embrys the Anomaly.

Looks promissing.

The new content, we will see it when it gets "life" and try it in the game.

Currently there is a lot, lot lot to assimilate :D, but in time and more specifically when "we put our hands on these new updates" and try them, then we can say more :)

So far the 10.0 looks massive and promissing but the time will show :)

The champion updates... in my humble opinion is "nothing wow!!!". Just adjusting some numbers in the skills.

Maybe the more interesting is the update of Gamuran's Passive - which will allow him to revive allies in two different cases: when an enemy is killed and when block revive is placed.

We will see :)

skeletor needs a update.

I love the character, but it's almost impossible to find a use for him

I hope it happens soon :)

It's nice that you are improving the game and adding new things, but I still feel disappointed when I play this game, especially when I open shards. drawing a good champion is a miracle that happens once a year. I've been playing every day for a year and I'm becoming more and more disappointed with this game. even if you buy shards, you still have little chance of getting a good champion. maybe it's time to change something about it?

Don't waste money in buying shards, bro ;) nor waste rubies for shards ;)

Better collect them and open shards mainly, when you are close to the mercy OR on h2 events.

By the time, collect shards and resources, evolve only key champions that will help you to progress through the dungeons, fractions and other areas.

Make sure to build a proper 1key team for the Clan Boss - you will get good amount of shards and ohter resources from the top three difficulties of the Clan Boss and there is plenty of teams to do it in 1 key, even with just epic champions ;)

I've being playing RAID for over 4 years now and 1st year and a half, almost 2 years I was only "observing" how advanced players from my clan were making almost every fusion and good events.

With regards to the constant updates and generation of new champions... I hope that PLARIUM, or the new Owner, not sure if they already took over the game, will make sure that chances to get good champions will be kept with all the new ones that are getting constantly released... otherwise with every new champoion the chances for something good will get smaller and smaller.

For the updates... it is great to see that th egame is evolving, but I'd say that most of the players simply cannot keep up the paste of so many updates and new stuff :)

Here is an example of extracting from shards. In the market, Ancient shards are less common, my suggestion is to make it possible to buy Primal Shards, because it is unlikely that anyone will pay for 200 Primal Shards, and everyone wants to have at least one Mythic champion, so most managers will give themselves some consoling hope that they will extract at least one Mythic champion and thus they would be more and more drawn into the game, and thus extracting champions from shards is only an idea for leaving the game, and it would be uninteresting for managers who are engrossed in the game and throw crazy money into the game to remain. I hope that the game bosses will accept this proposal.
