Recurring Battle Stalemates

This might have been brought up before (maybe several times) but wouldn't it be fairer if upon getting into a stalemate battle-loop, whether an error or not, a countdown is automatically triggered and the result becomes a 'draw' if there is no win/lose possible? I've lost so many tokens/energy points just because there is no way to end it without it being registered as a 'loss' against me.

Appreciate your thoughts on this - thks  😟

Hmm, I certainly understand this one but I think stall teams/champs are a viable strategy in arena which will then sometimes force us into these games where it's a clear draw.

The issue I have is sometimes this is going to be due to us choosing poor matchups, and offering a draw option seems like a bit of a bailout, especially if we're talking on Arena offense. In that instance, the attacker has the advantage by miles. Are you running into issues in dungeons with this too, if so is it vs. Paragon?

Thks for getting back - I understand what you mean about the credibility of stategy and I agree with you about poor set-up/matching etc. Yes, my experience seems to be across other combat locations as well.

One example was a raid on the Spirit Keep where my team sauntered thru to the Boss but ended up in a 'loop' of exchanges because the AI response kept re-balancing against any hint of a break against it's vulnerabilities, but then didn't produce anything to turn the battle in it's favour. Sometimes I kept persevering for 15/20/25mins or more to see if there would suddenly be a variable in responses, given how many factors can influence outcomes at any time.

Frustratingly (and usually inevitably) I have to stop it, thus creating an automatic 'loss' - leaving a feeling of exasperation because to end it like that seems to defeat the object of an outright win/lose in the first place.

Don't want to seem like I'm just kicking off about this, but as I've been thru it many times now, I do think there could be some kind of intelligent monitoring bolted on (a bit like a safety 'trip') with an advisory pop-up - like the one given for champion boosting - to prevent this just becoming a futile and in my opinion, unfair (given the potential number of tokens/energy points used) 'loss'.

Await your reply with anticipation - thks ☕

Hi again,

Not that you're already busy dealing with my current post/ticket and many other things, but I've just had to re-load the game waiting to start a Campaign battle I use for farming rewards (Kaerok Castle - Boss Level) as it stopped due to 'not responding' and now I've lost the points/rewards again with it flagging up a 'battle not finished - report error: yes/no ?' box on re-starting. I've submitted a 'yes' because it didn't load the battle but this just feeds the frustration I was describing earlier.

Any possibility of some recompense to soothe the pain?

Thks 😑

With regards to Spirit Keep: there is usually a strategy available whether that be heal reduction or just being fast enough and hitting hard enough to down the boss. Otherwise he'll heal up, as you saw. :)

Like I said, this is one of those where I definitely understand the argument for a draw system of sorts because you can't win and neither can your opponent. However this creates a freeroll in terms of infinite tries which I think runs counter to the energy system and its intention.

As for your battle that did not finish: That could be caused by a number of things, like an internet connection. I can't say I'm optimistic but you could contact support.

Hi again,

Yes I get what you mean about game-play dynamics. Obviously 'trial/error' are part of getting the results and I certainly don't want to suggest taking any edge off the engagement potential of the battles.

Maybe if there was a sort of in-combat 'deadlock-alert' icon that becomes audible/visible when a certain amount/type of exchanges has clocked up - would at least help prevent holding out unnecessarily for a non-existent impasse-break. It could be accessed to select a 'draw' option when pausing the battle, for instance. Just trying to mitigate against excessive frustration/forced 'loss' really.

Have you had any similar queries/comments about this at all? Be interested to hear if you have.

On the 'restart' issue, ok - I might message support, thks. First time I've had that, so could let it slide on this occasion.

Appreciate hearing from you - thks 🥃

Hi, just tried to use Discord to message you (user ID: @YaHzdaz#6578) as wasn't sure if you'd been able to see my last reply above - sorry if this is straying a little from convention but am still very new on the platform-using map.

Hope to hear back soon - thks

Apologies, I prefer to keep my correspondence - for the most part - on the forum whether it be through posts or PMs. :)

I've heard about pretty much similar issues you've faced, whether it be a Paragon, Spirit Keep boss or Ultimate Death Knight but I don't think it's something that's in the pipeline in terms of adjustments to game mechanics.

Ok, I understand - thks for getting back.

Did try to use the '!suggest' feature on Discord (as directed by your Administrator message pinned in Feedback/Suggestions) but it appears to be 'read-only' for me.

Message line says 'you do not have permission to send messages in this channel' - any other way to leave a suggestion at all? 🤔

Thks again 💻

That should work just fine if you do it in the suggestions discussion channel. Some servers are read only however, so it's possible you tried to post in one of those.

It's been a minute since I joined the Discord but there's usually instructions you have to follow before having full posting capabilities on the server, if that's the issue.
