Raids future? SOLD?
I have question marks in the title so do not freak out but will give you some factual info from the 2024 investment portfolio of Aristrocrat Leisure (parent company of Plarium) and other sources
Aristrocrat Leisure made 16% profict last year(2023) great for its investors so dividends will be paid
The RPG (non casino) gaming division had a decrease in profitability by 4% over last year . Means they only made 877 million profit
Raid specifically went from a profit of 296 mil down to 284 million profit.
Pixel who is in charge of the RPG gaming sector as a whole reported a 4.3 million Daily User across all the video games Plarium has
In a recent interview by Wall Street Journal speaking with the CEO of Aristrocrat Leisure (Trevor Corker). He said This sector (RPG video games) does not fit their model going forward and believe their success will be centered around the gambling side of ventures. He also stated the selling of this division was on the table
Aristrocrat Leisure bought Plarium for 500 M in 2017 and although still profitable .....just not as profitable. Aristrocrat Leisure made their money back on the purchase but seem to be reading the writting on the wall after 5 yrs
My personal thoughts are if they sold Plarium after purchasing it for 500 M in 2017 a likely sale price might be 1 B now and that is an assumption that the new owners could turn a profit in the margin of 250 M for next 4 yrs then start putting $$$ in their pockets after that
Last question is who could make a purchase like that? Off the top of my head would be Gamigo (German I believe) . Microsoft has been aquisitioning some gaming companys and perhaps wants to get into this mobile market. Finally my worst fear is TenCent, Chinas largest global purchasers of video game companies of whom snapped up Path of Exile from New Zealand
I do hope it is not the latter
I am sure many Employeees at Plarium are not even aware of this information and or how it might affect their jobs in the yrs to come. So hope you all find it interesting information and if you question anything I spoke of here I encourage you to do some research and or Google it.
I Love this Game :) I hope if it did get sold it falls into loving hands ;)
