You get points for opening shards in the summo rush, points depend on the type of shard you open.

You get points for getting champs in the champ chase,points depend on the rarity and affinity of the champ you get.

In both cases the point structure is there in the event/tourny screen.

you need another 1500 points.  Mystery are worth 1 to 10 points. Ancient from 10 to 500.  Void from 50 to 650.

pic you really want all the frags, I would start with the ancient, then void.  You should have enough.

So a little math to perhaps help your decisions: 

For the mysteries, let's just assume you're getting a 1:1 rate for points. 

Assuming no mercy etc.

Ancient = ~32-33 points each (assumes 91.5% rare, 8% epic, .5% legendary odds)

Void = ~80 points each (assumes same as above)

So, I would probably open ancients then maybe mysteries to finish, with Void 2x coming up in 2 weeks. 

I will do mystery first.  Most of them become food.  Ancients clog up my storage.

To add to what Angwil said, you get points for getting champions by any means possible.  This includes old fragments, or fusions like Rhazin and Relickeeper.

You get 1 point for common and uncommon, and 10 points for a rare champion.  You get 250 points for an epic and 500 points for a legendary.  It's worth noting that void champions are slightly better, in that you get 50 points for a void rare, 350 points for a void epic, and 650 points for a void legendary.

This is why you can pull 4 sacreds and only get 1000 points.  It's because you got 4 normal epics worth 250 points each.  

This is also why it is useful to keep the champions for fusions such as the epics for Rhazin, or Relickeeper.  You can then use these during these types of events and get free points without having to spend shards.

I have Rhazin and Relickeeper.  Can those fusions be done again?

Relic is repeatable, Rhazin is not. 

Relickeeper yea.  And save the uncommons for broadmaw, he is the absolute easiest to fuse if you have the champs and worth 350 pts.  Get the frags for the rare voids in the bazar and save any you manage to pull.  I just fused 2 of them for 700 points. 

And run 12.3 brutal, those champ drops while u r getting more greenies count as well.  Can get 100 points easy from hounds, diab, and incubus.  Plus another hundred from market over 3 days.  

I pulled mystery shards first.  Then 20 ancients gave me 3 epics.  I got the shards and the first lego book.  I pulled Doompriest so that was a nice bonus.

Repeatable fusions give you such a leg up finishing champ chases, although I wouldn't go so far as to hold off on Rhazin like RoseRoyal does. lol

Never really factored in the benefit of pulling rare champs from 12-3 either. Everything really does add up. :)

Congrats on Doomy, ClosedPoly. That 100% will change my CB team recommendations for you. She is perfect in making creating all-affinity teams so much easier, and takes away worries on stun targeting too. Just makes everything a little bit easier to build.

Doomy is just an incredibly strong epic. Easy to build, doesn't need books, just requires you to get her to 60, have the right speeds and defensive stats (depending on content.) Doom Tower boss all star as well. Not flashy, but fits into a bunch of important pieces of content in the game and does it well.
