Title says it all pretty much, the fragments aren't in the mailbox and the event is no longer there to claim, what can be done?
The event which finished yesterday? It should still be active in your list of events, and the fragments should still be there to claim, unless you already claimed them.
If the event is gone, you have no rewards to claim. You didn't get enough points before it ended. It only remains if you have unclaimed rewards.
Never trust an overnight run to finish an event is a lesson learned.
One thing which I never really validated - if you don't claim the fragments, I assume they go to mailbox, yeah?

My understanding and approach as well.
That said, if OP feels there's been a mistake then they need to contact support. Still, it seems most likely that the event was not completed.
