I just did the Relickeeper fusion for the missions.
That's not what I mean. They've announced another fusion event, which'll start next week, and I quote:
"Hey pals!
On Thursday, May 12th, we’re planning to launch a Champion Fragment event with a new Champion – Bivald of the Thorn."
Given that past fusion times have been on average somewhere between 3.5-4 weeks between start times, does it change your opinion that these have been pure fragment events, rather than alternating fragments with classic fusions.
I personally like the month in between, even if fragment fusions are trivial to finish, now.

Not really, no. I consider fragment/fusion to essentially be the same thing. I haven't sat down and done the math on the resource use, but my gut feeling is they work out similarly.
I just dislike how there's so little time between these to just relax :/
My opinion doesn't change at all regardless of the type of fusion. Any fusion even is a period of stress during which there are things that I feel like I have to do, and things I need to keep track of so that I don't miss by a tiniest of margins and make all the time and resources spent a complete waste. Even if I decide to skip a fusion, which has happened, it provides an element of stress by making me feel like I'm missing out. Basically, it's work, preventing me from playing the game.
It wouldn't be so bad if they were less frequent, but there's just no downtime.
Is it just me that thinks 5 fragments for 9.99 is robbery?
Anyway as to fusions, cant you just skip a few if you have had enough?
Yeah, I could. But I dislike feeling like I'm falling behind. And I'm sure I'm not the only one, as EGDNIT essentially summarized my feelings perfectly.
