Do people really spend this much for just a skin?

The biggest mistake ( and they gave been plenty IMO ) is letting see my receipts all in 1 place 😀, after adding up my  impluse buys I will never spend another penny on this game.

Think of it from Plarium's perspective - surely they've done their own market analysis, and concluded that's the correct price. But it's also basically a no-risk move - if demand doesn't meet their expectations, they can lower it at the click of a button, and it won't cost them anything at all.

I mean - obviously, I won't be buying it, but I'm sure there's plenty of rich people with nothing better to do with their money :)

Im the kind of person that would buy something like this. I had a lol account with around 400$ or 500$ worth of skins. I will not buy this though because I will not support this level of greed.

Well to me it is a big step in the rigth direction no matter the price if it can make the game running. The best games in the long run as always been games where you can compete with skills rather than money and earnings are from sponsors and ingame non-gamebreaking purchases.

Time will show how the prices should be. Most likely Plarium will have a wide variety of price tags on their skins - atleast how I would suggest them to implement skins.

LOL the 'fools' part is that I'm being offered this on a somewhat new f2p that only has log in champs.  I wonder how many people will spend $50US for this in anticipation of having Arb one day?

If you look at legendary skins in apex or any of the BR's, it's not far fetched.

Now, in those games, skins are all you can buy... in this game, you're trading away a lot of gems, shards, or something else just for looks.

It's $70 if you translate it into Canadianese.

It's a weird choice.  If I actually had Arbiter (and I've been stuck in Gold I for a dog's age, so I feel like it'll never happen), I'd pay, like, upwards of $5 for the skin.  But $70?  Come on!  Who's gonna pay that for a purely cosmetic change?

I agree, $50 USD is too much for a skin.  I'm an avid FTP account largely because I liked the challenge of seeing how far I can get in content without spending money.  When I heard about skin's coming out I actually thought this might be something I would consider buying, because doing so wouldn't make me feel like I have "Paid to win", but I'm not going to pay $70 AUD each time a new one comes out.  I can get a couple of brand new games on steam for that price

Yup..pretty much supports my decision not to spend any more money on Plarium...
