I don't really see why you would bother with Fellhound. You have Skullcrusher. What purpose does Fellhound serve, for you?

Strictly  to  get  my  farming  time  down  from  35 seconds/run. That  was  the  only  reason  i  was  even  comsidering  it.  have  heard  that  he  can  run  through  12-3  sub  10 secs.  Not  sure  if  that  holds  true  with  3  food  champs  along  for  the  ride,  but  if  so,  that  would  cut  my  time spent  in there  considerably  

Depends on your gear. Fellhound requires decent stats to do his under 10 second farm. I think he can get down to 5 seconds per run, actually.

To farm with Fellhound you need his attack and defense to add to above 6200, Crit Rate 100%, Speed over 105, Crit Damage over 225%. If you are unsure you can hit those numbers, you can check out with your current gear and test this out in the Hellhades Optimizer before leveling, just by choosing the "Champ to Max Level" toggle.

Checked  the  optimizer  and  can  only  do  195  and  thats  with  borrowing  some  gear.   No  big  deal,  Ill  wait  until  i  get  some  better  gear  in

You're close then! Might be worth building out fairly soon :D

with masteries, you can make up a bit of ground.  with better gear you need almost no masteries.

my attack is just over 3200, defense is over 3300, crit dmg is at 193, crit rate at 100, speed at 110, attack chest, defense boots, broken sets, and flawless execution.

5 second farm on 12-3 brutal.  if you don't quite get to the stats above, it might take 2 shots on the 3rd wave so it'll increase the time, still sub 10 second runs.

because there's no speed requirement, he becomes a pretty easy build.  might not 1 shot the last wave at first, but he'll get there.  was a major qaulity of life improvement for me personally when i built him out.

that said, it's a chunk of resources to invest.
