Been hearing some banter about new account packs that give away 5 sacred shards.. is this true?
2nd question being why does it seem like plarium is only focusing on a new player base than the current players??? I get it's all business and they want to get more players; more players means more revenue. I get that. I know I'm coming across as a broken record but I just think it's......poopie.
Plarium's business model is built on two things - whales spending a ton of money, and a *huge* number of new players they entice with various advertising gimmicks. Think of the new players as food. Plarium wants them to spend some money, and then they don't really care what they do after that. It's all about churn.
Giving five sacreds to new players, even if it were true, is largely irrelevant. You can bet that most of those new players will use them pretty early on, get nothing of relevance, and quit the game long before the power creep becomes a problem.
I don't know of any such pack. Nor do I believe one exists.
And I was told by Plarium one of the things they will be doing this year is focusing more on codes/packs/giveaways for enfranchised players as well, not just new ones.

If this promo is true, my counterpoint to this would be the free things given out in the game in the past 6+ months including Ninja, Aleks, Fayne, resources on holidays, so on and so forth. On top of that, getting new players in is good, and necessary for the longevity of the game.

That is true, but player retention is also important. There has been nothing much for extablished palyeers exclusively like with for new players.

Yes, I started new account myself 4 hours ago and I got 3 ancient shards pretty soon as the reward for showing up and 1 void instead of 5 sacreds, epic book in stead of legendary, a bit of silver, much less than on the HH screenshot and 1k e nergy, which iss the same as on the HH screenshot
Alright. Checked on this. This was some sort of leak, 5 sacreds were not the intended rewards, and the screenshot was incorrect. Looks like it's been fixed and they are taking steps to prevent this in the future, they say.
That's all the info I have right now.
I'm just going to go ahead and close down the potential computer generated thread necro from this leak back in January.
