Normally people have 1 champ that can solo Mino 15 and takes 4 along for the ride, this is the longer way to do it but saves you about 200 gems if you use the gems to buy energy.

If you cant solo Mino 15 with 4 tag alongs then spend the 800 IMO, or if you have no patience as doing Mino15 is a 2 to 3 week process doing the 45 auto battles daliey.

If you can solo mino 15, no question do this. Take four champs at level 1 5*, and by the time you have them with full masteries, they'll be level 57 6*.

The 200 gems and the silver and experience gained is why I always farm it. There are tools you can use on a pc to help you get around the 200 auto battles. Blue stack, RSL helper, auto clickers.

I never level my champions to level 60 in campaign it is alot of wasted energy. If you time it well you can get quite high xp by leveling in minotaur. In that way you dont have to rely on one champion soloing it either.

silver + xp + less gems as mentioned above is why i grind it.  keep in mind the champs you take in with you are champs you want masteries on, not just generic food.

the big catch though, is can you solo specifically mino15?  or even tag team it?  if not, 800 gems is probably a decent route to go.  in my opinion everyone's starting farmer champ should get 800 gems thrown into it for masteries.

Turns out I need 3-L60 champs (already fully mastered) to beat Mino 15.  I just made my 4th L60 today and I was hoping to use the other 3 to pull along the masteries for #4, rather than getting 800 gems for it.  I like the idea of gathering the masteries slowly so I can better discern what they do in actual practice. When I just let them all loose at once I really cannot telll what is doing what.

So then I am left with 3 champs to farm with, and 2 more slots to handle vacancies. Does this seem workable and efficient? vs the 800 gems?  Maybe not.

Also is there a good time to start with masteries on a champ?  As long as I am sure I want to keep them, seems to be no reason not to start asap.

As far as using the Minotaur as a leveling up tool vs campaign, I think the campaign gives better xp, but getting the scrolls with xp for leveling might be better in the long run.

And I know I am only talking 2 champs but just putting them together and not caring about which one gets the scrolls seems easier. Eventually it seems they will both fill up with scrolls at all levels.

This game really becaomes about managing your resources, IE enegry, shards gems so on and so forth.

If you can do mino 15 with 3 then yes better to level 2 with the 3, and yes start as soon as you know you want to level a champ.

I still you this Raid Shadow Legends Guide - AyumiLove and Utube vids before i do much with champs.

Actually my experience with the game, and the forums and ayumilove and those utube guys...yes, more than enough of that for a few years now.  I have restarted this game a few times, trying to apply what I learned going forward.  I had a good account where I was in Gold 4 for awhile, got to get my GH up pretty high.

But then the game "got hard" as the saying goes.  The number of champs got overwhelming, that is why I only have about 20 to 25 now to manage easier.  The guys like ASH and Hell Hades, yes, they know a lot and do a lot but I am lost so the deeper they go the more behind I get. I got so tired of pausing and going back on the videos, it just became too tedious.

So if I did it all before, why am I asking these questions?  Well just goes to show that even without a good education in the game one can do pretty well.  I am trying to get the education that I never got, like others have, then maybe I can go understand some more videos. Recently I had a discussion about crit rate which was helpful.  But really it takes very little thought at all to just level up champs and artifacts and bang away at stuff and not have a clue. And still be FTP.

Bad luck has been a disease I have suffered from since the beginning. Still waiting for certain good but very common champs that most players seem to have, like gorgo for example. In an arena mix of 10 fights maybe 5-6 of them lead with gorgo or have him on the team. Most of the others are High Khatun or Seeker. Now most everyone has Ninja or Deacon, I missed out on those.

Anyway, that's the story.

I do not beleive you are helping yourself restarting every time things get hard.

They put things in the game to stop or slow you down hoping you will spend your way past and if you are FTP you just have to do the long haul and push thru the roadblock.

What troops can solo mino?

I've used Ithos, gnishak. dozens of others will work.  It's the easiest dungeon.  Who do you have?

The only time i would consider using 800 gems is if i got both a feast and an XP barrel. And i would use those on an epic, not a legendary. 

=> level epic to 40, use feast to rank up to 6, thus saving 4x rank 4 chickens and 5x rank 5 chickens. Use barrel to level 60. Use gems to give masteries.

But since feasts are rare to come by, i've only done this once so far. Otherwise i run Mino for everyone.

... why would you level the epic to 40? the barrel takes you from 1 to 60 on its own.

Epic needs to be at 40 for feast to take to 6.1
