I think this change sucks too.

Everyone thinks this change sucks. 

The main problem is not, that we get an epic champ. The main problem is, that we get that epic champ. He is so underwhelming. The Players getting this champ are 450 days (!) in the game and have allready Scyl, Visix and Cleopterix - and probably a bunch of good champs from shards. Even as f2p, in 450 days you get some shards just by playing the game.

And now comes this champ, with the quality of Yaga, as log-in reward.

The gift for 450 days of playing could at least be a usefull epic, with the quality of Tayrel, Skullcrusher, Deacon or champs like that. But we get an epic that fights with the other log-in rewards Yaga and Tainix who is the worst epic in the game.

At least this Scion will give 250 points to a champion chase when summoning him. The only good thing he will ever do, sitting the rest of his life in the champion vault.

Thats  not  true,  Just  ask  the  mods!  How  casual  are  you  at  a  year +  if  either  of  those  champs  are  helping  you  anywhere  lol.

I think that players in general would rather have shards than fragments, because it's fun to not know what you're getting.  It's like a Kinder Surprise Egg.

The most likely reason Plarium's handing out fragments instead of shards is that it's harder to stock them up for tournament use, and when people can stockpile shards, they spend less during tournaments.  I hear Plarium has about 500 employees, and I'll bet you at least 450 of them are statisticians.

I think what they ought to do is hand out some life tokens instead and make it so that life token purchases don't give "Champion Chase" points.  That way players have the fun of thinking about which champ they want to get, and Plarium wouldn't lose out on any delicious whale milk.

Han, why are you seemingly only interested in being salty/combatative/downright rude in multiple threads and then just dipping out when people (including the aforementioned mods you've been a wee bit too aggro with) offer an actual argument, or are helpful? What is the point to all of it?

Also, it's very annoying that while Plarium normally considers legendaries to be about 18-19 times as valuable as epics (based on the base 6% legendary pull rate for Sacred Shards), the daily rewards system treats them like they're half as valuable.

Personally I'd keep playing the game if they gave ZERO daily log in rewards.  I know this for fact b/c I kept playing when initial log in rewards played out and before they extended them.  Yes a shard would be preferred, it isn't what keeps me playing.

Personally, I think not having any 271+ login rewards would be better. At least you know where you're at. But instead, they added some neat stuff, and just as you got used to it, took it away and added a middle finger instead. The rewards themselves are not the issue, but rather the disrespect they showed towards us. 

Call me old fashioned but I'd like to continue to get free daily log in rewards even if portions of the player base are annoyed by them.
