Things that help: 

Resist, shield champ that keeps up shield the whole time (speed tuned to do so, etc.)

I barely got it but a won is a win. I had to manual it and got stuck in a provoke loop which killed him at the end.  

Using destroy sets to break that defence helps.

can you share screen shot of your team and roster we may be able to find you alternative options 

if you have vergis itll be a easy wipe 

booked lodric falconheart (epic) or metalshaper (rare) make it trivial as they can keep sheilds up the entire time so he isn't doing his counter attack.

you also need someone in destroy gear or a decrease max hp champ because that's the only way you can really start doing damage to him.

It helps to bring some turnmeter control. The Scarab can remove your shields on attack, so don't let him attack. Another stage where Armiger is king.

I  just  use  warlord  in  a  reflex  set  and  vergis  in  a  destroy  set  not  the  fastest  but  gets  the  job  done  use  warlord  as  lead  with  decent  reist  you  wont  get  provoked

Was going to recommend Armiger as well. He's just so good. And even better to drop a Destroy set on him for this if you can make the stats work.

Never  thought  about  armiger  on  him  before  

Vergis can solo 

I use Vergis all by his self :)

havent  gotten  my  vergis  to  that  point  yet  trying  tho  

vergis in destroy gear will solo normal and hard by himself, so if you have him and stuck def get him built for scarab
