Just bellyachin' about the arena again/still
Is it really so hard to come up with an algorithm that sets up a lot of matches that are really close, with all the players in this game? Are they still using player level as a major factor?
With very rare exceptions, I'm still getting 3 types of teams to choose from:
1) Teams that are SO incredibly weak, it's just pathetic. Oh well, I could live with that, LOL.
2) Teams that are ranked SO far above mine, there's no sense in trying. RARELY I check one not quite so stratospheric and find it's over-rated for some reason ("attack power" but in lower-rarity, lower-ranked champions?) and can finally fulfill that "beat a higher-ranked team" quest or challenge, but again, it seems to be very rare.
3) Worst of all: Teams that LOOK beatable and going by power (and often by rarity and ranks) still look beatable... BUT either 1) are actually SO juiced up (armor? and/or masteries and/or books?) they are WAY, WAY more powerful than they look and simply stomp my ordinary, straightforward team, or 2) Have ONE or maybe two SUPER-SUPER HEALING or otherwise UNKILLABLE characters that can fend off full teams of the same rank and rarity, or even higher. I simply avoid teams (or singles) with certain characters if they're ranked 50 or higher, and wouldn't mind getting beat that way now and then, but there's just too darn many of them!
Yeah, yeah, I know, get some buff stealers, team composition matters, etc., but getting those takes time and a number of them aren't much good for much else, and meanwhile (and it's getting to be quite a while) I'm not having fun with arena, which I'm not crazy about anyway.
It would be great as far as I'm concerned if I could just avoid arena entirely, but then I'd miss out on clan points and a lot of other things, worst of all the LINEAR progress missions where you get dead stopped if you're not good at something or other and the next mission is based on it. You can't even complete the daily missions without doing some arena battles.
BLEAGH. Not expecting this to do anything but I feel a little better now.
