Thanks for running me away.

As a brand new player it didn't take long to run me off and I would like to say why.

1: a COST to remove gear for new players? That is just sad

2: Cost to grow your artifacts is way to costly for new players

3: Your Arena is a bigger joke then even Summoners war. Get a list and everyone in Bronze II (even I) are level 40 - 4 stared all upgraded with 2+ epic or even legendary toons. How is a new player supposed to deal with that?

4: Your quests are really out of wack and even if you did one unless you did it when the quest came up you don't get credit for it. Like get a champion to level 30. If you get your 1st champ to 30 before you get that quest you have to level up another one WHY?

Anyway done ranting hope you change your new player experience because the game looks really nice and I like the gameplay but when the game is more frustrating then it should be who will want to stay.

I guess it's how you approach the game, though I hear your frustrations and can appreciate them.

For me, I have always treated this game as an hour at night of fun but have always known in the back of my head that it was never going to be complete in a month.  It was a marathon, not a sprint.  I spent a lot of time just farming levels in campaign and selling stuff so never noticed the silver impact (even now I am at 60 million silver and never cared about it, even for artifact enhancement events).

I also never joined arena until I was ready and had a better understanding of the champion mechanics, as well as the importance of speed gear.

For me it's been 6 months now and I have a decent number of legendaries, and moving through the content quite nicely.  Even now though, I still treat this game as an hour or 2 a night thing and don't expect a lot of major progress too quickly.  I also haven't spent any money yet either for what it's worth.

That said, I can see how everyone approaches a game differently, and some games just might not work for some people, which is fair

I keep seeing these expressions of magical luck for such a short time in the game.  About all the legos you have blah blah blah.  I played 2 years, only got 1 lego and that was from a fragment build on Drexthar.  I was also FTP.  I paid the ripoff silver to open many dead shards of all the colors, always getting useless rares/epics.  Yes, there are those and I manage to get all of  them. So there is no such thing as "game approach", only how much bull you are willing to put up with, watching so many others get better stuff than myself.

I find it hard to believe that you have been playing for 2 years and have never drawn a random legendary, even before the mercy system came into play.  The amount of free shards that are given from challenges, missions, campaigns and daily logins is massive.  You would have had to accumulate well over 300 ancient shards, 100 void shards, and 50 sacred shards in the span of 2 years, starting as a new player.

This is excluding any rewards from tournaments and events, or clan bosses, which I can only assume you have been participating in, and if you haven't then perhaps that's half your problem.

If all of the above is true, then yes, you are statistically the most unlucky player ever, but I doubt.

how long have u been playing? A week into the game I could beat all of the teams u mentioned. Can u show us ur roster? Epics and legendaries aren't always the best. Of course, people don't always use rares.

I dispute the massive numbers you mention.  I have no idea if I ever challenged the mercy system.  I did not have any referrals, most of my shards came from the monthly and weekly quests.  Not so many as you claim.  I play pretty much every day and had nowhere near those experiences, so yes I am very unlucky it seems.  Yeah there are a million green shards, all food for me but I had to stop feeding the junky stuff I got.  There are no statistics that apply to me personally as the game quotes.  Those stats are all just a global pool of numbers shared by many.

You also assume I achieved what it took to get those "rewards from tournaments, events, clan boss, etc".  I partici[pated in quite a few, never achieved a fusion except relickeeper, and one frag I did with Drexthar but with that I did not need to be a massive whale to get all that stuff in so short a time.  I did get a Lego, I forget how, it was Bystophus, rated by utube as 90 out of 90 at that time (worst) in the game.

I had some starter champs, apothecary, maus mage, coldheart, etc but not made into the stuff that the utube guys have and flaunt in our faces.  No real knock your socks off champs that so many have in the arena, even those half my level. (I had another account I abandoned so I am just talking experience).

So personally I feel just totally insulted by what Plarium tossed my way, not sure why, blame it on ignorance or roll of the dice, but why would I ever want to to recommend this game to anyone, even to get a shard?

Do not keep patting yourself on the back as if you had something to do with your success.  Many others like me are just whipped into submission and will not admit their bad fortune to be criticized by you.

BTW in that account I abandoned I was L67, built 90% on rares. I was in Gold 4 before hell broke loose, my highest points level was 3500.  All without legos, except for Drexthar and Scyl which was a game freebee, decent for a change.

I agree on your attitude towards the casino pretending to be a game, ftp and casual and expecting little is the way to go

However on pulls if you have 'lots of legos' at 6 months ftp then yes you are lucky

I am 6 months in too, i do UNM chest daily and i have pulled 3 legendaries, zavia, draco and i forgot i pulled errol too who lives in the vault.

The biggest factor on this game, is luck or throwing money at the game.

I cannot list where all the shards have come from because Raid doesn't allow me to go back to see what previous challenge/missions/campaign rewards are, but I am 8 months in and have accrued close to 20 sacred shards by now somehow (I know I said 6 months in above, but I have just logged in and seen how many days have progressed in the daily logins).  I have not purchased anything, nor received any sacreds from events and tournaments.  I think the Raid 2 year Anniversary present might have had one free.  I am also not getting any from CB as I am only up to Brutal, but I have received at least 2 void shards from CB chests these 8 months.

Edit: Having a very quick look at the daily login rewards and campaign/mission rewards that I can still see , there appears to be at least 7 sacred shards available through those, plus the 8 for the 8 months of playing comes to 15 sacred shards that I would have now.  I'm certain a couple of the challenges gave one when finishing their highest level (e.g. campaign challenges), plus the 1 free from the Anniversary gift would put me close to the 20 mark, so I'm confident my maths is correct.

In the remaining 16 months to get to the 2 year mark, it looks like I am eligable to get around 2 sacreds a month (daily logins and monthly quests), which means another 32 sacreds.  Again, this is assuming no drops from CB (when I progress up enough), or free/cheap events.  I also have not finished nightmare campaign with all stars so will get another sacred there, as well as another one from finishing the artifact challenges (I'm currently only on part 9 of 10, with a void shard as the reward).  This will take my total sacred shards at 2 years to around 54 which is where I got the numbers from

Edit2: you said you abandoned the account at level 67, and also said you had been playing for 2 years.  I've been playing for 8 months and currently at level 65.  I'm not sure how you can only be level 67 after 2 years?

I said I have a decent number of legendaries, not lots.  I have participated in 2 fusion events (Astralon and Brogni), and also have the free ones obviously (Scyl having the bigger impact on my game).  I have pulled Suzerain, Fu Shan, Candraphon and Turvold so I would be consistent with you for count (my 8 months to your 6), though I am only up to Brutal CB.

I am actually only really using Fu Shan (pretty much everything) and Suzerain (Spider and Arena) at the moment.  The others are still in the process of being geared up, and everything else in my teams rares or epics

Edit: forgot that I was using Scyl alot too of course

Fair play, i am mostly playing guild wars 2 now to be honest.

I think candraphon is top tier for arena by the way, id prioritise him.
