Tayrel doesn't land Decrease Def 100% chance with full level skill.

Go for dragon lvl 14 with ACC 183. ACC should be more than enough. Tayrel missed landing Decrease DEF sometimes and I didn't see any RESIST shown up..

Is this a bug or some kind of mechanism?

That is not a bug. If you land a debuff is calculated in two steps. 1. The debuffchance, if it's 100% you will allways climb this step.

2. Attackers accuracy vs defenders resistance.

Look at the Dark Elf legendary Ghostborn for example. His A3 has the special ability to skip the second step I mentioned: "This debuff cannot be resisted." The Doomtower boss Nether Spider has the same trick with her poison.

/edit: My bad, I missread your question, but can still give the correct answer now:

It's a mechanic. Dragon 14 has force affinity, Tayrel has magic affinity. So he will get weak hits sometimes. Weak hits cannot place debuffs.

Confirming what Skadis Revenge said. It's a weak hit that's causing this.

So if an ability or your crit change is a 100% and you win the Acc vs Res calcaluation, there is still a chance that the ability or hit wont crit?

Based on this 100% crit really is not 100% crit then, this does not make any sense unless it is like wow were bosses were 3 levels above you. For you truely to be 100% crit you had to have 103%.

Does the same rule apply here on bosses? If so what is the level to be a true 100% crit? do you need an extra 3 - 5%?

If not then why do the stats say 100% if its not a 100%.

I have noticed with champions that have a 100% crit they do not always crit and i was wondering what the true number is.

Why is this not disclosed? In wow they disclosed what you needed to be a true 100% crit.

If there is chance of a weak hit when you are 100% crit then then the game is misleading. Please give the player base the true number.

Weak hits are caused by affinity. Affinities are like rock paper scissors to each other (with void as 4th, neutral). Weak affinity has a chance of 35% to land a weak hit.

Indeed. The best example of this is Alure - her A1 reduces TM on crits, but even if you have 100% CR, you still won't reduce their TM 100% of the time. 35% of the time you'll get a weak hit, which can never crit. The remaining 65% of the time, you'll crit 85% of the time, since you get a -15% CR debuff against weak affinity. That means you'll only land a crit roughly 55% of the time, even if you have 100% CR.

I believe that the CR debuff applies after the max crit cap, so even if you had more than 100% CR, you will still only crit 85% of the non-weak hits - though I could be wrong on that one.

I get what you are saying but then it goes back to my point that a 100% crit is not a 100% crit.

It should be like the example in wow, bosses are 3 levels higher then you so you need more then 100% crit.

It would make sense if you are fighting a weal affinity that you need maybe 110% crit to over come the affinity issue.
