I am level 47 and only have Kael as a 6. I am looking for a generalist (not specific to CB, Arena, etc.).
My level 50s which l can upgrade include: Maulie Tankard, Mausoleum Mage, Royal Guard, Sethalia, Stag Knight, Alure and Frozen Banshee.
Should l upgrade one of the above or wait for another to upgrade (such as Apothecary or Coldheart or other Legendary).
I am F2P.
You got some really solid options there, but I'd probably prioritize Maulie and Stag Knight (and maybe Sethalia afterwards). Royal Guard and Alure may be too gear dependent to be effective early game.

Maulie is fantastic in Arena with her Provoke and the Frost set l have on her. I haven't really used Stag Knight much but he looks like he would be a better all around Champion than Maulie.

Sethallia is amazing - healer, cleanser, buff stripper, hp burn and plenty of turn meter help along the way. Stag Knight and arguably Maulie are indeed higher priorities considering what you need now to progress, but Sethallia is probably the best champion you have.
