I have Dark Elhain, but never built or used her, and do not have Ult Galek.

Ultimate Galek and HP Burn in general are only best use in Spider, because HP burn damage is the sum of all burned targets, it is great when there are 5, 10 burned champs; if there are only 1 or few champs, the damage is too low. 

Can you share your full list of champions ( In a screen capture )  you might have other champions that would be more of a priority and could help you more.

Thing is, there's a reason why 6-starring Kael, or whoever your starter is, is the meta. You want/need your first 6* to be as versatile as possible - farming campaign, dungeons, CB, arena, everything, until you can develop other champs to take over various roles. And Kael is more versatile than either Vergis or Ultimate Galek, since he is both an AOE nuker and a reasonable poisoner. If you had some other champ who was clearly better than Kael in all/most of his roles, it would be another story, but you don't. 

But anyway, up to you. I would guess that both Vergis and Ultimate Galek should be able to farm campaign at 60, at least, though it may be slow going compared to a starter. 

The only Meta which exist in this game is Classical Arena & Tag Team Arena.

You shouldn't be focusing on PVP related stuff.

You should be focusing on the PVE related stuff.

1st - You should be making a hero who can Solo Brutal Chapter 12 Stage 3

2nd - You should be making a team for Clan Boss

3rd - You should be making a team for Minotaur

(Unless, you plan to spending gems for Masteries at which point you can skip this step)

4th - You should be making a team for Dragon

Once, you have finished all of the above PVE related things.

Than will be the day where you should make an Arena team.

As far as why people 6 star Kael - The answer is very simple.

- Kael can Solo Brutal Chapter 12 Stage 3

- Kael can do Poison vs. Clan Boss (Poison is a Debuff you want vs. Clan Boss)

- Kael can Solo the Minotaur in Lifesteal set

- Kael can Solo the Dragon in Lifesteal set

Kael is a 1 man wrecking machine.

If you was really disgusted with the Meta + Kael, You would be going for the Anti-Meta.

Kael & the Starter Champions are all Magic Affinity.

If your planning is to counter them, Force Affinity champions is what you would be aiming for.

All your suggestion's are for Magic Affinity heroes.

So your not even trying to counter the Meta.

You only have 3 options:

- You play the Meta set up

- You counter the Meta with Anti-Meta set up

- Or your team dies

Relic Keeper is a Fusion Champion which you can get at the Portal.

Rhazin is the King of all the Lizardman's.

Rhazin puts out so much damage its insane.

Rhazin laugh's at Kael.

Rhazin thinks Kael is a Meme Champion.

You seem to be relatively early stage in the game.

I would advise avoiding making your Epics *6 at this stage, unless you have dozens of Epic books. Some, such as High Khatun, do not really need ot be *6 at all anyway.

Check the Missions you have ahead of you. You will see some missions to *6 some champions of specific affinities. You have some great rares there to fulfill those roles.

*6 Kael (Magic), Warmaiden (Force), Soulbond Bowyer (Spirit), and Pain Keeper (Void).

Warmaiden - nuker / decrease DEF - needs to be faster than Kael 

Kael - nuker/early poisoner for Clann Boss (until you get Frozen Banshee or someone like that with only strong poison)

Pain Keeper - healing, decrease cooldown  (get her as much HP as you can)

Soulbond Bowyer - AoE A1, full turn manipulation, execute

High Khatun will act as your speed lead in the Arena perfectly even at *5/50, provided you give her as much speed as you can.

If you get Athel from a lucky pull (she drops from Mystery shards too!), she will be a great champion for Fireknight and Spider. She is still my Campaign farmer.

Definitely concentrate on getting to Brutal Campaign stage 12/3 (slightly more silver) or 12/6 (slightly more XP = lower Energy cost), so that you can farm comfortably with a single farmer + 3 food champions.

Although I agree with the information and suggestion in the post , I will ask you to be a little more considerate when providing advice to newbies. 

that said Kael is the most logical option at this point for all teh reasons stated above, feel free to ask again if you need advice gearing him.

- 5th move: Rock Breaker ----> AOE Provoke

The OP now know both the Meta Side & Anti-Meta Side.

He can be successful on either side.

The choice is up to him.

I chose the (Starter) Kael side when I started playing the game, but my Kael was destroyed by more Relic Keepers in Arena then I care to admit.

The Truth is all the Starters + Relic Keeper get put in your vault in the end.

You will replace all these heroes with Legendaries.

Thus, the option you pick should be based on what makes you happy as a player.

I would highly recommend you to focus on the Clan Boss, the daily rewards from chest can be really good. At early levels, Khael can help you in a lot of areas (clan boss, campaign, arenas...) if you can build him with a decent Vampire set with 100% crit and some crit damage, he will carry you untill the 12-3 brutal stage, and also, great poisoner for the Clan Boss (need some acuracy, but not that much at early phase)
