Since it's the only thing you could do in these 2 weeks, you should play it. 

I don't think it will cost a lot, the fusion cost me a lot was Rotos fusion, I was low level and have to farm Dungeon stage 10-14 day & night for each tournament, I was lucky because I had a champ in spider tournament and having like 4000 gems and I got more luck when at that time server crash like crazy, Plarium keep sending me 1000, 2000, 500 energy daily, that helped a lot.  

However more and more those fusions do not cost me that much gems, time and money, I do hope the total cost is affordable 4000 gems.

P/S: I just recheck, look like epic champs are better than this legend, I only collect epic champs.

Maybe. Yet it won't cost me anything as i will never ever pay for this game.

And no one should seeing how they don't care about their players :

• no information before fusion => you can't prepare, and you always find out last event is a hidden paywall
• thresholds way to high for most tournament/events with good rewards => you have to pay to finish them
• no place for champions/stuff => u can't stack champions for fusion
• insane price for artifact upgrades => pay pay pay
• messed up shards table loot => summon more champions, so more money
• insane way to get void/sacred shards => pay pay pay
  
• insane price for switching stuff on champions => you can't try stuff or you have to pay
• mastery reroll by gem after the first free one => you can't make mistake
• no reinitialization of masteries when champions change => pay with gem if we mess the champion
  
• no info on attack multipliers => you can't compare/prepare champion efficiently
• champions released without extended testing => sell champion, then nerf ... whale bait (but it's ok for me to fool whales)
• brew/green shards on high dungeon stages
• drop rate of higher potion ridiculous at max stage
• qos messed up after each release
• advertising 9999 offers when you launch game
  

I'm pretty sure i forgot a few things .... but if you pay 99$ for a pack in this game, don't forget 99$ is 2-3 AAA games :)

I believe they noticed people were stocking duplicates and could eventually manage to do fusion without paying. So they decided to make a fusion with new hero only so there is only one way to get the fusion  ... pay

Not really, I just don't want to bother to use all of my resources to fuse the legendary, and will just get 2 of the epics and call it a day...

From some of the Youtubers, the Vergumkaar seemed to be worth the effort, I really don't see myself ever going to use him in the near future on the content I am currently playing though.

Ice Golem ? I just overdid a little yesterday, 1929, blame the late update when it shows 172x when actual point was 179x.

Maulie ? I saw she dies even her provoke still active on 1 or 2 champs several times, I had Maulie in June but never build her, I really don't like [Provoke] debuff, even from my side, and Maulie got weak attack, that does not help.

Vergumkaar ? Nice to have. But it's bad idea when the passive skill only add 20% turn meter, my good idea is counter-provoke to caster and this debuff can't resist. 

- Better idea ? Have 3 other champs, with counter-debuff: stun/true fear/freeze. Then make an arena team with 4 counter-debuffers. I do hope this idea could be sold for money, not a free idea. 

Fusion events do not cost me much, I collected all champs and I even do a little more to collect skill books & shards. Now I have 3 days to wait for another champion chase tournament. 

Stopped here. Don't go for Tuhak and lego, and won't fuse a second Kaiden. Gnomes under him will be used as level 40 chickens. I think it's more important for my stage of the game.

Didn't like summoning event, so kept blue shards intact. Greens were spent on a tournament to get Kaiden and legendary book. Did you know that Kaiden provided 250 extra points for the tournament he was won in?

I got one of each of the Epics. Than I thought that some of them are way too much fun to play with instead of fuding them into a Lizard horse.

Might also have to do with my not being endgame ready by a large margin. But I also think to have more fun out of these epics than the leggie
