Win 3x3 series, but lose arena points? WTF?

Am I missing something?  In this example when you accept an opponent, It says you'll receive 6 points for each victory.  Today, twice in a row, I one two such battles and lost one.  I gained the 12 points for the two losses and lost 14 points for the defeats for a balance of minus -2 points!  I have noticed that all loses are more costly than wins, but to actually lose points with a so called victory?

Am i the only one that sees this?  Is this the way it is supposed to be?  You can win 2 battles and get a so called victory, but you have to win all of them or lose points?

if you fight someone ranked way below you, then you get less points per win and lose more in a loss. You can see this before you choose your opponent.

You fall into a trap of what you thought to be easy win of 3x6 points ....

If win gives low reward ... Loss will hurt badly.

Possible win points + possible loss = 20.

If win gives 6 then loss will take 14. Stop trying to slide through and pick opponent worth at least 8 points or accept no progress if you lose just one.

Thanks guys.  @Trips I don't see, or haven't seen this before I pick a fight.  I only see one number of points per battle at stake.  So where do I need to look?

I think KSTHECROW has it right for each battle --> 20 points are up for grabs. What you see before you accept the match is how many points you win if you win the match (so +6 for one particular match, say). That means if you lose, you will lose 20-6=14.

3v3 arena is leaving a bad taste for new players and most of the complaints are legit IMO. Few winnable matches to begin with (unless you get a lucky draw) and even when you do win 2/3 in a match maybe no points or very few.

Plarium should have staggered the starting levels based on player level or roster power or something. Then everyone would have a better chance at better match-ups to choose from. It's also not fun for many stronger players if you get a draw full of opponents where you auto through 5 or 10 matches like a hot knife through butter. To me that's not fun either.

Thanks!  that at least explains it.  It still leaves me dispassionate about 3x3 if I can win the series but actually sink in the rankings.  It seems like a better matching system could be implemented.

I agree.  I was excited at first and won nearly all of my battles, even when picking higher valued opponents.  But I soon realized that to get to the next tier there was no way playing 5 matches a day, even winning every single battle, will get you to the next tier.  You must continually refresh tokens to barely stay in the 'move to the next tier' group, even if winning every single series, and every single battle.

Yeah I agree i find the concept of winning 2 and loosing points just so sad IMO. Plarium please fix this. It makes the arena actually quite pointless and boring until every has spread across the levels.
