First of all, just in case: don't sacrifice Justiciar until you've passed both the progress mission to fuse Justiciar, and the one to fuse Relickeeper (which requires Justiciar).
Is the problem the new warning popup that you get whenever you try to sacrifice a champion used in a fusion? What happens if you click Sacrifice? Otherwise, you'll need to be clearer on what the problem is exactly, or perhaps post a screenshot.

I have the exact same problem with a goremask that will not move into the sacrifice slot after I confirm the action.

(Edit) removing the gear seems to do the trick though.
