Levels 60, 50, 40 for each of them in case I need another speed boost or poisoner.

I was short on options at the beginning of the game and I started with Elhain.

Martyr is ok for middle Gold IV

Nothing else there will get you to top Gold IV - Platinum bottom (when it matters on last 4 hours before reset)

I run:

Arbiter - Valkyrie - Krisk / Skullcrown - Rotos

And I am on edge of Gold IV/Plat. It's tough on the last 12 hours

What do I need then?

If you look at Platinum, there are literally 6-8 champions that dominate it. (You can see this in top 300 players tab).

If you don’t have 3-4 of them, there is zero chance you will be in top 300 at the point that counts which is at reset.

So I don’t need to say it, but you kinda need 3-4 of:

Rotos, Siphi, Tormin, Arbiter, Lyssandra, Hegemon, Warlord, Madame Serris, Trunda, Dunchess Lillitu, Krisk, Valkyrie (you have Martyr so ok not too bad)

So really you can probably get away with a top geared Martyr (50-60k) but you are missing a speed lead like Arbiter or Lyssandra, a proper healer like Siphi or Warlord, and some serious DPS or CC like Tormin/Rotos, and an ally protection champion like Dunchess, Siphi, or at worst, Krisk. 

And also arena power of 220k plus (I am around 190). Otherwise your gear is just not optimal

I mean I assume Gold IV top and Gold IV middle makes no difference to you right? Same rewards and same token per game.

I really appreciate your response. Gives me something to look for. I am almost finished the requirements for Arbiter. 

Basically, I need to pull some of the others to be top tier and then book them up.

 i would use a speed booster its really important: in your case its apothecary

I used him also for a long time until i got arbiter....in my opinion he is great in arena: speed buff and turnmeter boost really important

To be the first is really important when u dont have a massive tanky resist team with good damage output
