Ok, that's good starting point. When the CB hp goes below 50% he switch from void to random force/spirit/magic affinity. This affinity affect the way you and CB himself perform. CB get additional debuffs acording to his affinity, get to hit stronger your champions that are weak affinity and may land weak hit on those that are strong affinity to him.

The same way you will start to have weak hits when your champion attack him if they are weak affinity. Around 1/3 of the time you will see those white numbers and message that this is weak hit. 

On weak hit you can't land debuff at all, no matter how big is your chance and how many acc you have (unless it say otherwise in skill destruction). 

So, the main reason you got worst run is that you most likely have fought CB that has strong affinity against you. 

wooooooow, thanks man! You're absolutely right and even what you've described is precisely what's happened to me. Weak weak, no crit, no spells, nothing. Lovely explanation bud. It's true I haven't paid much attention to the affinities thus far and I should've had. There is so much to learn about this game I'm happy for these forums and for such help. Like I said, I'm in the game for 3 weeks or so and the number of information going in and out of my head is right now at its absolute possible peak yet I have a strong feeling I haven't explored more than 10% of the game so far. For me though, complexity makes it interesting so way to go.
