This event as with any increase in rates for rarity of shard rewards is just that. An increase in rates. You are not guaranteed a desired result.
I had 9 void shards and got 0 epics or legendaries, and that's fine. I had some bad luck. It happens.
Bad luck <> a scam.
There used to be no events for rates, and for much of the game's existence the chance for an epic from a Void shard was fixed at 6%. They permanently boosted it to 8% and now occasionally set it to 16%. That is not 100%. It is still 16%.
Your luck was not terrible. This is as expected. Please understand and accept this.

Another whiner! OMG! This event I opened 2 shards and got two duplicate rares. The previous void double event I opened 13 shards and got 2 Legendaries including Turvold! You are just whining b/c of bad luck. If you gonna get pissy about losing a bet, don't go to a casino!
1: I'm not a whiner, i'm expressing an opinion and my disgust, there is a difference.
2. "Get pissy", what the hell kind of expression is that, i'm guessing your American ! If you mean getting pissed of then yea, I was pissed of and I exercised my right to voice an opinion which judging by your comments no one is allowed to do this as it's judged to be whining!
As ever we are encouraged to spend money to gain these rare champions, money is not something I have in abundance which i'm guessing is the case for the majority of people so I think I have the right to blow of steam a little and express my opinion.
Whimsy thank you for replying. As you can see from my comments above I was just letting of a bit of steam but it's good to see a moderator commenting on my post and explaining a little about the mechanics of the game, thank you once again.
Not sure there is much point here in dipping my toes into this debate, but FWIW:
(1) It's true that the complainers don't understand how probability works.
(2) OTOH, since MOST people don't understand probability, maybe the developers should re-think this event, which seems to cause a lot of bad feelings. Is that worth the likely small income bump from people buying shards?
On a more big picture note, IMO the real solution here is to include a mechanism that increases the chance of pulling a legendary or elite hero with each "failed" attempt. No by a lot, but enough that you'll have fewer dissatisfied customers. And IMO that will actually lead to people spending MORE on shards.
Thats a splendid idea, take note PlariumNot sure there is much point here in dipping my toes into this debate, but FWIW:

My Point... You made a bet based on odds and statistics that where well known ahead of time.... You lost the bet.... You complain about losing...Angwil said:

It is frustrating. It took me 7/8 months to get my 1 and only legendary after opening countless ancient, void and sacred shards. It’s no secret that the drop rates are very low. A double chance event DOES NOT guarantee an epic or legendary champion drop despite many players choosing to expect it to be.
Despite this I do believe there needs to be a “pity” counter in the game. Similar to the one in Hearthstone, another digital collectible game. After opening X amount of shards of each value you should be guaranteed a legendary minion.
500 x Mystery Shards - Rare champion
100 x Ancient Shards - Legendary Champion
50 x Void Shards - Legendary Champion
5 x Sacred Shards - Legendary Champion
Can confirm this is wrong I have opened 400 odd void shards and have two leggos

These are just off the top of my head and I’m basing it purely on my experience of playing the game over 9(?) months and how frequently I have been able to acquire each type of shard. For reference I have spent around £40 in total on the game.
Oh I wasn’t suggesting this is what the current drop rate is. I was suggesting that would perhaps be an ideal “pity” counter for shards that would guarantee the drop of a legendary champion after X number of shards opened. Can confirm this is wrong I have opened 400 odd void shards and have two leggos
